The only time I’ll hang a sweater is steaming time!
A gentle steam bath adds 1.5-2” to the length of the sweater and the sleeves. I didn’t want to fully wet block the sweater - steaming is a nice alternative to relax the wool a bit!

Hi world!My name is Kari Capone. I'm the founder and lead designer for The Spinning Hand, an online shop based in Maplewood, NJ.I founded TSH in 2007, as an Etsy shop with twenty handknit items for sale.
I built the business slowly over the years, and in 2021, left my corporate career to pursue yarny delights full time!
New to our business this year is Knit + Crochet U.
KCU is a college-level course that guides students through knitting their first (or fiftieth) sweater.
Our next session begins in September. Students will have access to the Knit sweater course and the Crochet sweater course, and can work through them at their own pace. Twice monthly coaching sessions are included.
