The Academic Hound

The Academic Hound

I'm a former dog trainer of 20 years. I may be retired, but I still post new blog entries every week! Shay is certified from National K9 School for Dog Trainers.

She graduated in 2000 and has enjoyed helping dogs and their owners in many facets of life. She has run two successful dog training businesses, worked on rehabilitation for countless behavior cases, and trained many many dogs in both basic manners as well as basic/advanced obedience. Seeing that many behavior problems are because of "bad matches", and because of her extensive knowledge of dog breeds, Shay is now focusing on matching people with the right breeds.
