As promised, some photos from my walk around North Cave Wetlands YWT yesterday. I saw lots of birds and bugs and a few firsts for me.
This selection includes a Swan preening, I believe its a Swift or a Sand Martin, then my bird ID apps (Merlin & Seek) are telling me the 3rd picture is a Common Nightingale ?? It was pulling at a spider web, possibly for a nest ??
Finally the star of my recent video ( https://youtu.be/UAZvv0F9X08?si=AjHkErvBb-BlE91K ) The Grey Heron.
I had a wander around YWT North Cave Wetlands and captures some great moments. A Blackbird eating a slug, A Swan with Cygnets and my favourite clip... A Heron catching a fish. which is your favourite ?
I was feeling Dark and Moody so I thought I would mess around with a couple of Dark and Moody Self Portraits. Two big things about this. One - I hate being the subject of my photos. Two - I am terrible of Portraits. I think I have only ever taken on good portrait photo before in my life. so any CC will be gratefully taken on board.
Which is better ?

Finally got back out with my camera after all the bad weather and illness has finally gone away. Straight out to North Cave Wetlands in the sunshine on Sunday afternoon.
The place was swarming with Midges but it didn't stop me taking some photos.
This set includes a Chaffinch, Blue Tit, a Common Reed and a rather annoyed looking Robin surrounded by Midges. It does look like he is shouting at them to go away :)

Finally, some good weather and good sunshine. Not bad for a December morning.

Had a lovely afternoon out at Londesborough Park today, The weather was lovely, calm and crisp with the odd blast of sunshine. Took my RF 100-500 to try and capture some Kites, as I'd seen some here before. Sadly it was not to be, but I got some other shots instead, Squirrels, Rainbows and Midges, an unusual combo
Here is a larger selection from the Try-out session with the Humber Warhawks - American Football Team on Sunday 5th November.
I had a great time shooting and the guys put maximum effort into the training.
I had the pleasure of photographing a Tryout session for the Humber Warhawks - American Football Team today.

First day out with my new Canon RF 100-500 L lens and I'm impressed so far.
Wandering around North Cave Wetlands as per usual.
Some old favourites out and showing well. Saw some scary looking mushrooms, no idea what they are, if you know please tell me in the comments.
Happy belated 50th birthday present to myself :)
If you have been following my work, you will notice that I don't often take photos of people. So this a quite a departure for me but when I was out with my family (parents, wife and of course Titch) I captured this lovely shot. The photo was almost monochrome due the intensely bright sunshine so I converted it and love the result.

Sometimes you have to look at the world differently. A change of view point can make all the difference.
So while having a walk through the Avenues and Dukeries, I wanted to try something different. So with my iPhone 13 Pro Max and its Wide angle lens, I started snapping :)

Out nice and early today to get the best light. Had a trip out to Scorborough and Watton to take some pictures of the area. The close up of the plant in the wall was found as i wandered around Watton.
The Church, St Leonards, at Scorborough was very impressive for such a small church.
I was planning to get my drone in the air but it was just a bit too windy :)
