Annual Sorry Day memorial at 7am tomorrow morning in Sherwood.

Reminder that its our Annual Sorry Day ceremony tomorrow morning, bright and early. If its cool please bring plenty of layers that you can shed once it warms up. It can get chilly down there by the river. Also please bring a small plate of food to share if you can for the community breaky afterwards. The ceremony usually is over within an hour to enable folks to get to work and school etc. All Welcome, please bring a friend or a neighbour to share the experience with.

Detained by us on Nauru for almost ten years. Sickening.

Primarily due to lack of compassion by LNP.

However it must be noted that they were first detained there nine plus years ago at the direction of a Federal Cabinet of the Labor Party, and that for the past nine plus months they have been detained there at the direction of a Federal Cabinet of the Labor Party.

Sadly, it is actually even worse that that.

When it comes to legislating compassion for asylum seekers, this Labor Cabinet enjoys not only a clear majority in both houses in the Parliament, but also has an electoral mandate for that compassion.

When you are sworn into office as a Cabinet Minister, there is actually no exception clause in the oath stating: "unless wedged by the LNP".

On this of ALL issues, wholy disappointing...

Sorry but:

This budget was another wasted opportunity to deliver a plan for a better future for Australians. Instead the Liberals just delivered a plan to stay in power. You can't trust Scott Morrison.

Morrison LNP and One Nation united in denying First Nations Voice!
Simply not good enough!

Patrick Dodson on Twitter β€œYesterday, the Government joined One Nation in voting against my motion for a Committee on truth-telling and treaty making at the national level. It was defeated in a tied vote. This is a clear failure of leadership and a missed opportunity to heal the wounds of the past. ”

Australian communities - esp local churches and schools - are encouraged to speak up for First Nations Voice. The deadline for submissions to the Govt's Co-Design process is 31st March 2021.
The 2017 Uluru Statement from the Heart called for Voice, Treaty and Truth-telling, making clear that the "Voice" needed to be "Constitutionally enshrined".
