Snippets from my graduate exhibition last night. The Every Body Project began as an undergraduate project, carefully crafted by a hopeful dance student and exceptionally supportive tutors and peers. So pleased to announce its been awarded with first class honours 🥳
Thank you to Every Body who’s been a part of it so far and looking forward to sharing what’s next with you
How inspiring and honest
All too often though we rely on extraordinary circumstances to make us realise the value of our lives
How great would it be if we could feel lucky for life and refrain from criticising others and ourselves

Remember all the times you have been there for yourself, every step of progress you have made no matter how small, every time you’ve learned something, every time you’ve cared for someone, every time you picked yourself up. Imagine a friend you loved had done as much for you as your body has, would you take notice of someone else’s bad opinion of them?? So why should it be any different for yourself
Try not to be too hard on yourself today 💗☀️

Was reading an interesting discussion between some fellow body activists about being body positive or being body neutral
To the best of my knowledge and very broadly;
Body positivity is about praising and loving all parts of your body and the way they look
Body neutrality is about accepting your body for the functions it provides without placing value on aesthetic beauty.
Many find a body neutral mindset to be liberating as it relieves any kind of pressure to focus on the way you look and not feed into what many believe are superficial values perpetuated by the media.
I would propose somewhere in between the two sounds like something to strive for. Feeling good and positive and beautiful in your body whilst also recognising the greater value in what the body provides for us outside of visual satisfaction.
*disclaimer I don’t disagree with either one and I’m simply interested in hearing people’s opinions and perhaps providing an alternative view for those that don’t get on with body positivity for whatever reason
