Every holiday, Skip and I traded chores for tomfoolery. In this classic pic, I'm giving my little brother his wings with a makeshift cape made from an apron. We'd soar around the house while the elders handled the serious stuff like meal prep. Our clowning was so legendary that as adults, they assumed I couldn't cook – little did they know about the gourmet feasts we enjoyed back in the day.

Fast forward, and Skip would randomly ask for recipes I made. The catch? I never used recipes, so there were no do-overs. I'd share what I remembered and wish him well in the kitchen.

This Giving Tuesday, let's remember those carefree moments and give something back to those who gave everything.
