Let's talk about the "F" word…… F R A G R A N C E. 😲

Candles, sprays, plug ins, hand soaps, cleaning supplies, etc. are pretty much eh..vree...where. (especially fall… who here has seen Trey Kennedy’s Fall Girl video? HAHA!)

🍁 The word "fragrance" can hide any combination of 3000+ chemicals that companies engineer in the lab. Even "essential oils" that are sold so cheap. Yupp...they all fake. More on that in a minute...

🍁 The majority of candles contain paraffin, a petroleum waste product. When burned, it releases some of the same toxic chemicals as oil & gasoline. They are a suspected cause of cancer, can cause respiratory distress.

🍁 The toxins released from candles are as detrimental as second-hand smoke.

FRAGRANCE GETS A FREE PASS ON DISCLOSING

What does that mean?! It means that the word 'fragrance' is an umbrella term that companies use to avoid disclosing ingredients 🤭😬

Yea.. fragrance gets a free pass under the law—it’s the only ingredient that’s allowed to hide under a cloud of rose petals and doesn’t have to say what it really is.

Although fragrance looks like it’s one ingredient on the label, it’s more likely a blend of many ingredients. Even though it might contain synthetic, preservatives, or allergy-provoking substances that you might want to know about--companies are protected by outdated laws preventing consumers from transparent disclosure.

You may not even realize what you're inhaling because you haven't even been given all of the information...essential oils are pure, natural, and you don't have to worry about harmful additives.

I used to love candles, especially in the fall, but then I learned just how toxic candles can be. I realized I was literally paying to bring illness INTO our home. I was potentially buying illnesses like:

+ Asthma

+ Respiratory infections

+ Skin allergies

+ Reproductive problems

+ Developmental problems

+ Cancer
