Every once in awhile I like to look back on the journey that has led me to today. I love how it gives me perspective but also helps me to see how small changes have a huge effect over time. 3 years ago I took a leap of faith and trusted my gut as I started a new path in my career. I was so excited by the idea of reaching people virtually in a way that was warm, welcoming, and inspiring. That path has led me to build an online community (Mindful Movement) and now to working with the most amazing team supporting other fitness and wellness pros to do the same. I truly believe that mindfulness and self care are the way to where we want to go.

I’m not sure when I realized that moving my body was equally important for my mental health as my physical health (maybe even more) but it’s something I know now to be the absolute truth. The clarity, strength, and relief I feel mentally after moving my body in a positive way is undeniable. Mindful Movement is a whole being kind of thing ✨✨✨

I put this shirt on tonight and remembered when I first got it about 2 months into the pandemic. At the time I was determined to be a beacon of joy for my family in the midst of all the craziness.
Almost 2 years later, my eyes are more tired, there are a few gray hairs, but the search for joy is still on. I’ve practiced letting go instead of holding on tighter (this is not easy for me) but I have seen that joy is always there to find between the moments of stress, anxiety, and uncertainty.
It reminds me of what I love about yoga and mindful movement. When you get lost or off balance, you come back to the breath. In the moments of challenge, you come back to center by softening and finding what feels right for you.

Mindful Moment ✨✨✨
Some of my favorite workouts are the ones that flow effortlessly from one movement to the next. I love taking exercises that we typically push or struggle through and finding ways to create more ease or a moving meditation. Our exercise practice is a way to connect with and be aware of how we approach challenges. When we are aware and breathe through the tough parts, we can do better and we can feel better.
