California, here we come! 🌴

Six students from the Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering course are headed for the finals of the MATE Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) competition in the USA, after winning first place at the regional round in Surayaba, Indonesia last week! In the process, managed to beat renowned universities from Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. 🌊

The winning entry, RAINER was a result of five months of hard work and sleepless nights by Yang Fang, Tan Hwee Peng, Chong Kai Ming, Lee Yann Ning, Lim Wei Kheng and Teo Shyan Jie.
Despite the challenge of collecting environmental samples underwater and identifying sunken cargo with hazardous content during the competition, the well-built RAINER performed its tasks well and rewarded the team with a trip to the finals!

Congratulations to Team SP and all the best in the World Finals!
