Today is release day.

It's bloody fantastic.
I'm bloody proud of us.

It's got some Nirvana, IDLES, The White Stripes vibes (steer clear if you strongly dislike any of them)

We're releasing it on Bandcamp to start with. Partly because we're proper DIY. And partly because they pay you more than £0.000002 per stream.

..but do it till after 8am UK / 3am NY time because then we get maximum $$$.

After all, we make music to make cash.
And we expect to be filthy rich by midnight October 1st.

For all those that weren’t there, I’m still releasing music, but a bit differently. Recently created ‘Dan’s Demo Club’ which allows members to get a new demo from me each month, plus new music playlists, bespoke songs and spoken word etc (check it out here: www.dancrook.com/democlub ). I’m currently in middle of FAWM.ORG. Writing and recording as many songs as possible within a musical community that gees each other along for the month of Feb. 3 songs down with 4 more started.

I’ve had 6 splendid members join the club since I launched on Thursday afternoon. I am genuinely humbled and excited that folk wanna be part of this. It’s the most excited and supported I’ve felt about music for a long time. (we need to sort some hand sewn ‘DDC’ badges...like the 🦫 and cub days)

Wanna do a public thank you to Mark Tiddy for helping me get the site straight. I was pulling out hairs Wednesday night trying to work out how to make the page look like I wanted in my head. He did me a huge favour and he smashed it, and mostly on his lunch break- no less! If any of you need a web designer / coder HE’S YOUR GUY.

❄️ Snow cancelled my Troubadour gig but friends rallied and a friend of a friend hosted a a makeshift gig in their living room near Canada Water for bunch of folk they didn’t even know! 💪

Craziest part is I first met 5 of these beautiful people whilst playing music in Australia and 2 whilst in America! Never experienced so many multiple reunions!

Scot Nevil came all the way from Nottingham for the show! And the Southend faithful- Steve, Tim, Bec and Matt...

Really been encouraging for me to see 'Stop the Press' getting the amount of love it has. Toby Grimmett's superb music video for the track's been viewed 2000 times in the first week and the song itself positively reviewed by numerous blogs, Tom Robinson and you lovely lot! I also hit 808 likes on my Dan Crook page, mostly from you lot sharing it around. x

Recording and releasing music these days is a pretty fruitless endeavour in terms of making anything back £ wise (I currently aim to get at least one track out a year as anything beyond that would be a huge level of investment) . The support for this track will be great to look back on when I'm working on the next!
