Thirty-six years ago, Filipinos ousted President Ferdinand E. Marcos and reclaimed democracy. Today, President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. wins the elections with 31 million votes in his favor.

As investigative journalism students, we ponder: what caused this stark change in the tides? Does our education system teach us enough about the Marcoses and the martial law? If Germany has a mandatory Holocaust education, does the Philippine public education curriculum have a mandatory martial law subject?

We are working on a story that aims to answer our question as to why the Philippine public education system does not have a mandatory Martial Law subject.

In line with that, we would like to humbly ask for your assistance if you have any textbooks that were used by grade 6 students that cover or mention Martial Law.
