Some thoughts about the last few days…

Zephyr did a great job on our second roadtrip right after Thanksgiving. We stopped every hour or two to stretch our legs and have a snack. It’s so special to have my family travel with me when performing.

Part of my repertoire for these concerts was a Hanukkah medley. It was my first time singing in Hebrew, and after Saturday’s show the local rabbi complimented my pronunciation and was so grateful this music was programmed.

It was heartwarming to see how Eureka supports its local symphony. Both nights were sold out, and it’s always wonderful to sing to full house! And thanks to everyone at the Eureka Symphony - I hope to be back!

Thanks to Otis Harriel for the local recommendations. We loved Jodie’s cookie at Los Bagels, and Zephyr and I had so much fun at the zoo and skywalk.
It was a wonderful trip and I am feeling very grateful in the face of the difficulties it held. Robin got food poisoning! (He’s OK now.) I was really looking forward to a hike in the redwoods but with caring for Robin plus the downpour of rain, I enjoyed the sounds of the pitter patter on the windows of our little cabin while staying cozy indoors instead. It’s such a nice part of the season.

I’m not religious but holiday music always makes me so nostalgic. This music is a part of a tradition and connects me with my memories.

On the drive home, Zephyr started playing peek a boo and giggling like crazy. The cutest!

Near the end of the year I usually like to travel, but this year we are resting and reflecting at home. We're eating warm comfort foods like curry, snuggling up and reading (about Cole Porter's life!), taking rainy walks and hot baths. What do you like to do in the last week of a year? ⠀

My happy place. ✨ We spent the day rehearsing, arranging, and refining the Cole Porter tunes for our album recording next weekend.
I’m so grateful for Josh and Johnny’s creativity, humor and skill. This is going to be something very special, folks! I can’t wait for you all to hear.
