Everyone had heard of Selfridges, we knew it was a high end department store, frequented by the rich and famous. The passion, the turmoil everything that it took to make the store what it is today. We feel just as passionate about Siren – Beauty, but rather than wait 100 years for a tv show we will give you our story now. I am Lynne Gallagher, founder of Siren – Beauty. My story begins many years
ago when a teenage nerd, who wanted to become a vet switched her direction by 360 degrees, on a whim that was exactly where she should be. I changed my direction and trained in Fashion, of all things! I had a successful knitwear business at age 17 and carried this on until life and family got in the way. Divorce left me foundering in a no mans land, and in 1999 I moved to Ireland where I met my wonderful husband and had three fabulous boys. I ran several businesses ,Childrens bespoke themed bedrooms, ThePresident Mary Mc Aleese, met us and knew the business from tv. I also painted signs and Christmas windows, but none of these grabbed me. I even had a book published but still not right. And then I began a Makeup Artist course and found make up. There are so many reasons for wearing make up, acting, disfigurement, modelling but the one thing that makes me passionate about makeup is this, Its how it makes you feel. It doesnt matter if you are Kim Kardashian or a run off your feet mum, the second you put the war paint on you feel like a new woman. Even if you only put on a bit of “Lippy” it can make all the difference to your day. When a woman comes to a salon or private MUA she goes in as herself, but when she comes out with make up done shes a princess, business woman, model, sexy Siren, anything she feels like and that to me is magical. There is no job satisfaction like that when a woman looks in the mirror and says something like “Is that really me?”
I want to encourage all women to experience that wow moment everyday.It doesnt matter if you are a trained make up artist or a total beginner, its how it makes you feel when you look in the mirror. We women dont do enough for ourselves, what with work, family, everything we have to juggle on a daily basis. Taking a few minutes out of your day to transform yourself is vital to keep you sane, and all thanks to a little bit of makeup. Siren – Beauty is here for all you busy women to search for your look online in the few minutes each day that we can grab with a coffee or after the kids are gone to bed and the shops are shut. We aim to stock a wide range of brands and a wide range of prices, so whether you are a beginner or you are a make up artist, there will be something for you. I hope you all take the time to bring out the Siren within, its so much fun and we all deserve to!
