Get Stuffed - Frozen Kong Recipes

Sharing frozen recipes for Kong fillings to help keep your dogs entertained The page will share recipes that have been tried and tested by my dogs.

Most of the recipes will be frozen ones, but some are suitable to be fed frozen or unfrozen. Recipes will find their way into my upcoming e-book of the same title. Although I mainly use Kongs for stuffing, I do also have other food toys such as ones made by Hartz. Pretty sure with some creative thinking, the recipes can be adapted to any stuffable chew toy. Please note that this page is not affiliated to nor endorsed by Kong.

Today's Kong delights; potato, butternut squash, carrots, peas and cheese - frozen of course (will complement their pork brekkie)

Today's Kong recipes will suit the toast monsters

Toast spread with Marmite, sliced into cubes and stuffed into the Kong. I had some spare corned beef, so that went in as well. As mione are experienced Kong emptiers, I added a bit of hot water to soften the toast so that I could push it well in and make it harder to empty. Topped off with soft cheese. Hope they enjoy. For an easier to empty Kong, omit the hot water

Today's Kongs...Super Six

Layer of dog meat (tinned/raw) with some dog biscuits pushed into it. Then a layer of yoghurt with cooked chicken pressed into it. Top layer of soft cheese with a dog biscuit as a 'stick' Today we've had Lovejoys biscuits in the meaty layer and a Eukanuba Healthy Bone as the stick.

Whats in your Kongs?

I have already prepared Kongs for tomorrow and stuffed them in the freezer.

They are having corned beef hash (no onions of course). Cooked butternut squash, carrots and sweet potato mashed up with a tin of corned beef. we'll see how that one goes down.

Think Sprout is already sniffing them out.

With all the worry about the Corona virus, I can understand it if people don't want to attend in-person workshops. As I don't want you to miss out, I have decided to hoose workshops as online events instead :) That way, you can study in the comfort of your own homes.

First up, I will be running another intake of my Crazed 2 Calm course which aims to teach you how to recognise when you dog is starting to become over aroused and techniques to bring them back to optimal arousal as well as exercises to teach them to self-calm. This is a different approach to my EPIC course as there are very few if any, it's yer choice type games, which makes it ideal for those dogs that get frustrated very easily. This will be delivered via a private FB group, with exercises for you to teach, and a safe place for discussions of your own dogs. Cost £80

I will also be adding a Focus and Connection online course, a Tricks course, and a basic training course.

My online course for helping with your barky lungy dog will also go live later this month.

Remember that we also offer online consultations (behavioural and training) as part of our services.

If there is demand, I could also add some online workshops for Helping Hounds, Goody Goody Gundog, POsitive in Perspective etc.

Drop us a message if you wish to join our March Crazed 2 Calm intake.

Did you know that hormonal changes that occur after spaying can affect the bark of spayed females making their barks more high pitched (Kim et al 2005)?

Just one of the snippets that is discussed in this Canine Communication course; probably the most comprehensive Canine Communication Course available online.

A fave of my dogs

Today's filler is a fruity one :) You can use any fruit that your dog likes (except grapes...don't ever give them grapes) as long as you remove stones/pips from things such as apples and cherries.

Today, my dogs are having apples, bananas and Gala melon layered through their Kongs along with custard to bind it all together.

Obviously, this filler is not grain or dairy free because of the custard. You could use fruit juice if your dog likes it.
