Homosassa Pirate Invasion Information and FAQ
Ahoy locals and lovers of our beautiful waterfront!! Homosassa has always been a beautiful place to live and visit. For as long as residents can remember, the waterfront has been a great place to grab a bite to eat, sit and enjoy the view, cast a line, or launch your boat. These activities have always been some of the activities that define our area. One thing that many people have missed in this area is a park that is available to all people who want to use it. A park that has grills, picnic tables, a gorgeous view of the working waterfront, and maybe even a playground for the children, the future of our community. These dreams have finally begun to become a reality for us. When it was announced that the Civic Club of Old Homosassa was going to turn a portion of our working waterfront into a park, it was quickly realized that a playground had to be part of the plan. This is where we come in! In order to give visiting and local families a place to allow their children to play safely in a gorgeous environment, we need help from the community. To do this, we have come up with the idea to bring together so many of the things that make this community so great and put them all within the same property in an event were calling "The Homosassa Pirate Invasion". This event is going to bring together all things LOCAL! Restaurants, artists, businesses, families, and even Pirates! All of these things contained within the Crumps' Landing property will be brought together in a festival setting that allows everyone who comes to feel the passion and dedication that the community has for this area. The Homosassa Pirate Invasion will be a one night festival that encourages a social atmosphere where everyone can gather, mingle, taste local food, drink local, see and buy local art, let their kids play in a kid friendly environment, part take in a kid's pirate treasure hunt, ride mechanical sharks, dunk local celebrities in a dunk tank, bid on a various selection of baskets and prizes, part take in a 50/50, listen to live music, take pictures with pirates in pirate attire, see real pirate floats, walk amidst avid pirates, enjoy the waterfront, and most of all support the building of this playground! Local volunteers and businesses will be donating their time to help make this event a great success and to allow everyone who attends to enjoy this amazing night. We are asking all of you to buy tickets, bring your businesses, bring your families, and spread the word so that we can make this dream of a playground a reality. We are also asking for local businesses and artists to sign up as vendors or a sponsor so you can showcase what you bring to the community. Attached to this is our sponsor form and vendor sign up sheet so that everyone who is interested in becoming more involved can do so! Lastly, we are attaching the website for ticket sales. Not only will the purchase of a ticket ensure you have an amazing night at the event, it will also get us one step closer to building the playground. To get in the spirit of the theme we are asking that all guests dress up in pirate attire.
So, Aaaarrrrghhhh YOU ready to help and join us for a night filled with fun, food, and family! Get your tickets today and join our community in making dreams a reality for the Heritage Park Playground!
