Ewe Brew

Handmade knits for the wine or beer connoisseur.

The last few days I finished the bottom hem of my cardigan and it is looking sharp with that garter stitch border. Knitting it made me so happy! 😁
At the moment I am doing my typical procrastination before I start on the sleeves. I have to pick up 82 stitches around the armhole, and I am just not feeling it! But I will have to get into a well-lit room at some point and bite the bullet.

I’m being very patient with my very thin fi*****ng weight wool, as the results are totally worth it. Having experimented with different wool thicknesses, it is clear that lightweight sweaters are my favourites.
This Rebel Rebel cardigan is coming together with a really cool garter stitch band on each side of the front. Such a simple detail but it adds a little something to the design.

It’s been a while since I posted any of my knitting, but I have been busy working on this cardigan. That thing I always need during my work day!

The pattern itself has gone smoothly so far, it’s just that fi*****ng weight wool is really thin and takes a long time to knit. I am also by no means a fast knitter, so it has taken a long time before it looks like anything.

A Perfect Marriage

A knitter since high school, my closets and knitting baskets overflowing with my handiwork, I needed a new challenge, but felt a little lost. I didn’t want my listings to get lost in a sea of chunky cowls, perfectly styled and oh so aspirational. While I was ruminating about what my next project would be, my spouse and I went about our business, going to our local breweries with a handmade growler cozy. That cozy drew comments to the point where I knew this was a sign from the gods of commerce, one that I could not ignore. My handmade cozies and craft beer are natural bedfellows and I hope you enjoy using them as much as I love making them!
