Defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa and 2023 BOG runners up NAVUA Football Association have been grouped together in pool B as the 2024 BOG pool was drawn this morning.

If the hosts of a major tournament get an automatic spot in the top 8 (which was never stipulated when the 8 team tournament format was implemented), Nasinu,Navua,Tailevu Naitasiri and Ba will never get automatic qualification as it stands. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Suva gets a spot. Nasinu thrown out.

Nasinu FC and Tailevu Naitasiri FC will miss out on the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants (BOG) Tournament 2024.

Despite Nasinu’s recent 1-0 win over Rooster Chicken Ba FC in round 12, which moved them up to the eighth position, they will not participate in the BOG. Suva, the host, qualifies for the tournament even though they are in ninth place.

The pool draw for the BOG Tournament will be done this week.

The group stages of the Rooster Chicken/Scoop Ice Cream BOG will be played from July 26-28 .

Knockout stages are a week later at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

A Chris Wasasala goal was enough to secure the Lions victory at Subrail Park against Suva.
The topsy turvy race at the top of the table continues with the Lions taking top spot again. Rewa takes on Naitasiri tomorrow in pursuit to take back the top spot on the DFPL table.

Double header is set for Subrail Park this weekend. The Lionesses open the proceedings against Nadi women , followed by the Lions clash against Suva.
Double header kicks off at 11am.

Only goal difference separates the top two on the ladder, after eleven rounds of competition. The Delta Tigers reclaimed top spot after a one all draw with Suva.

The Lions will sleep on top of the table tonight after the 2-1 victory over Nadroga. Temporary it may be, but it shows the mammoth effort the squad, management and the coaching panel have put in. Can anyone remember when we last sat on top of the table at this stage of the league?
Rewa Football Club can reclaim the number one spot tomorrow with their match in hand against Suva.
Labasa will host Suva in next weekends DPL fixture.

Full time at Subrail Park. Extra Supermarket Labasa grab a hard fought come from behind win over a determined Nadroga side. Chris Wasasala equalising for the Lions and newcomer Junior Fordney scoring the winner late in the match , after Stewart Toata had given the stallions a first half lead.

Another Solomon islands international, Atkin Kaua has joined the ranks at Labasa Football Association to bolster the Lions attacking artillery.
All three, Atkin, along with Junior and Tigi are expected in the country on Thursday.
