Chess and Community is the second organization we have partnererd with for February 2024. They are located in Athens, GA and began in 2012 by Mr. Lemuel “Life” LaRoche, their founder and executive director.
Their Mission: "To expose students to new ways of thinking and being."
Their Value Statement: "Be open-minded, disrupt the ordinary, Think Before You Move, stay accountable, be great and be grateful because leaders serve."
Their Purpose: "To awaken possibility for emerging leaders."
Grizzly Rides is inspired by the work of this organization which uses the game of chess as a learning modality to help young adults manage impulsiveness and develop critical thinking skills, thus preparing them to lead by focusing on academic enrichment, civic engagement, career and entrepreneurial skills development, and cultural education. In essence, Chess and Community develops the youth to transform their community.

In our last newsletter, we announced the 12 local charity organizations in Athens that will receive a $500.00 donation from our program.
Goodwill of North Georgia is the first organization we have begun our partnership with for January 2024. We believe in their mission: "Putting People to Work." We are living proof that their mission works! January is also Poverty Awareness Month and in honor of this, we have aligned our I Heart Donation Program with the mission of Goodwill of North Georgia and will continue to support "putting people to work."

Introducing our I Heart Grizzly Donation Program!
I HEART GRIZZLY DONATION PROGRAM
We need your help to identify 12 Local Non-Profit Charities in Athens, GA that we can partner with to show our support for the good works they do and the people they help in the community of Athens.
Simply submit your suggested nonprofit via email by January 21st, 2024. We will then reach out to each nonprofit director and develop a partnership to begin donations on the 1st of each following month.
Our plan is to begin this program with a donation of $500.00 to one nonprofit per month in 2024. As we grow our business, we intend to donate more!

How our donation program all began?
We began this donation program unofficially with monthly donations to the Vital Ground Foundation, a nonproft located in Missoula, Montana that provides wildlife conservation and protection of Grizzly Bears.
"Grizzly" is the nickname of our founder and CEO, Wesley Chenoweth. His teammates in college said he was like a teddy bear off the field, but a grizzly bear on the field. So when it was time to pick a business name for his transporation company, "Grizzly" was the natural choice.
Protecting wildlife has always been a big passion of Wesley. As most of you know, Wesley is originally from Liberia, West Africa. Throughout Africa, wild animals have been hunted and killed for sport by poachers and big game hunters, or they are sold as exotic pets to the super rich, and even worse: killed for their skins, tusks, and parts. Charities like Vital Ground Foundation help to provide protection of the natural wildlife habitat and education to hunters and local communities.

2024 is here. Can you believe it? Grizzly Rides & Delivery is going stronger than ever. We started operations in 2018. 6 years in business! Thank you Athens! We could not do it without you.

What to look out for in 2024
1. UGA Innovation District Delta Hub + Grizzly Rides & Delivery:
Last year, Grizzly was accepted into the UGA Innovation District and completed several of its programs:

2. UGA Capstone Program Partnership with Grizzly Rides & Delivery:
As a result, Grizzly was approved to apply for the UGA Capstone Program, forging a groundbreaking partnership with UGA Engineering. Together, we'll craft a customized transportation booking app, unlocking the technology needed to elevate our services and scale our business.
3. Limousine Permit with Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport:
Last year we purchased a new vehicle, a 2021 Chevy Suburban. We also registered a new company, Grizzly Rides Limousine & Transportation LLC. We have begun the process to establish a limousine service in the state of Georgia. This is multi-layered process. We are in the final phase and expect to have our Limousine Permit with Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport by March or April of 2024.
This will enable Grizzly Rides to pick up at all the limousine locations at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport as well as all the airports in the State of Georgia. We will be able to scale our business by offerings upscale services as well.

5. Introducing "Georgia Day Trips":
Explore popular destinations with our new service, Georgia Day Trips. Enjoy convenient and comfortable rides to places like The Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Chateau Elan Winery & Resort, Zoo Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park, Centennial Olympic Park, Breweries, Festivals & more.
Great for families and short getaways when you need that quick burst of fun or looking for something cool to do. We will pick you up in style, wait and return your party to Athens.
6. Introducting our "Care Bear Transport Service":
Grizzly Rides will be provide Doctor Appointment & NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) rides between Athens and Atlanta. Grizzly has multiple years of experience in medical transportation and pharmacy delivery.
We will pick you up at your home or medical facility, transport you to your medical appointment, wait, communicate with the medical facility when you are ready for pickup and return you to Athens after your appointment.
We are exploring partnerships with Goodwill for providing NEMT Logistics as well.
7. I Heart Grizzly Donation Program:
Now you can make a difference in your community with every ride you take with Grizzly Rides. Introducing our "I Heart Grizzly Donation Program." When you book with Grizzly Rides, we will contribute to local charities in Athens every month.

Guest Speakers at Battle of the Biz 2023
The Battle of the BIZ! is Goodwill of North Georgia's only fundraising event where many businesses all over the state of Georgia competed for a $10,000 prize.
Grizzly Delivery participated as the guest speaker for 2023.
We came in 2nd place at the 2022 Battle of the Biz. After our speech this year, Goodwill raised $419,000 to put people to work!
A New Car!!!
In 2023, Grizzly Delivery, LLC formed an additional company, Grizzly Rides Limousine & Transportation LLC. In doing so, we needed a limousine. We purchased a 2021 Chevy Suburban (Black on Black).

Top 6 Delivery Robots - Self Driving (Autonomous) Delivery Robots

Meet the autonomous delivery robots which are shaping the future of food delivery. These could also be used during coronavirus when everbody is staying home.
Starship
A six-wheeled ground drone from Starship Technologies. Equipped with a sensor suite that includes cameras, GPS and inertial measurement units, the robot can deliver items within a 6km radius. It has a large compartment to hold deliveries equivalent to the size of two grocery bags with a maximum weight of 10kg. Once the robot has arrived at the customer, the compartment is opened using a unique code generated after placing the order from a smartphone app. In March 2017, Dominos entered into a partnership with Starship Technologies to use the latter's robots as "personal delivery devices" The company plans to distribute thousands of robots across campuses around the world by 2019.
Kiwi
Kiwi is an autonomous delivery robot that picks up and delivers food and personal-care items within a roughly 1.6 square kilometers area centered around campus. The robot uses Deep Learning to correctly interpret data gathered from its sensors and to make intelligent decisions that ensure a fast, safe and cost-efficient delivery. It can correctly identify traffic lights in order to cross streets and detect objects and obstacles to avoid collisions in a safe, reliable manner.
Robomart
Robomart, a literally little mini-mart on wheels. It is engineered with cutting-edge technology, including driverless tech for autonomy and teleoperations, an RFID and computer vision-based checkout-free system, and purpose-built refrigeration and temperature control. The bots are now used by Grocery store chain, Stop & Shop to deliver groceries to its customers. When customers want to buy some groceries, they simply tap a button in a smartphone app to request the nearest robomart. Once it arrives, they head outside, unlock the doors, and pick the products they want. Robomart tracks what customers have taken using patent-pending "grab and go" checkout-free technology and will charge them and send a receipt accordingly.
TeleRetail Robot
Using artificial intelligence to automate local logistics and minimize the ecological footprint of transportation, TeleRetail wants to help Main Street shops and small businesses to compete with major e-commerce companies like Amazon. The robot is made by the Swiss startup TeleRetail founded in 2014 by Torsten Scholl with the aim of solving the logistical problems of local businesses. With its 84 centimeter width and capability to carry up to 35 kilograms payloads, the robot is designed to travel on sidewalks, covering long distances up to about 80 kilometers
Amazon Scout
Entering the race of autonomous delivery robots is nonother than the e-commerce giant, Amazon. Amazon Scout, a six-wheeled self-driving delivery machine that is "the size of a small cooler". Walking at a human pace, Scout uses self-driving technology to navigate through neighborhoods to deliver packages to Amazon Prime Customers. The vehicle appears large enough to accommodate small and medium-sized parcels, but no word yet on what's under the hood.
FedEx SameDay Bot
So far, FedEx SameDay Bot is the latest of a long line of last-mile delivery robots that transport small packages from shops or local distribution centers directly to consumers. FedEx says it will refine it, and then begin deployment as soon as the company’s engineers are satisfied with its performance. The bot is being developed by FedEx in collaboration with DEKA Development & Research Corp., the company behind mobility device iBot. It features pedestrian-safe tech, multiple cameras, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and machine learning to help it detect and avoid obstacles, and navigate uneven surfaces.
Updates:
Domino pizza chain announced that it has entered into a partnership with Nuro, a robotics delivery startup, to test using its robots to transport pizzas from a store in Houston.

Who We Are
Grizzly Delivery, LLC started in June of 2016 by our CEO, Wesley Chenoweth, an entrepreneur and engineer. Our company is rooted in the Passenger Transportation, Non-Emergency Medical Transportation and Courier Delivery industries. We are located in Athens, GA and service our client base living between Athens and the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. We are a transportation company driven by a good cause. We Love Bears! (A % of the profits from Your Rides goes to charities supporting Wildlife Conservation and Protection of their Natural Habitat).
Company History
Grizzly Delivery, LLC orginally began in NYC as Grizzly Multi-Enterprises, Inc. in the Door to Door Distribution Industry. We were independent contractors for firms such as The Star Ledger Newspaper and Yellowbook/Hibu We eventualy evolved into courier delivery and now passenger transportation as well. We relocated to Athens, GA in 2016 and fell in love with this city. The people and culture of Northeast Georgia has been a Godsend for our business and livelihood. Located on the West End of Athens, we also happen to be neatly positioned in a Georgia State HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) and are a registered minority contractor. Grizzly Delivery, LLC is also a Proud Registered Federal Contractor. Please see our NAICS Codes List below.
