Jim On Light’s primary writer is Jim Hutchison, Chief Design Consultant of Alive Lighting. Jim has several years of experience in the Entertainment Lighting industry. Jim is a member of USA Local 829. Fox is our Chief Web Strategist by night. By day, he is the Lead Electrics Technician for Cirque du Soleil’s KA. He also writes most of our safety related content.

It’s not untrue to say that existence was pain during the pandemic we endured. Many of us didn’t make it; many of us got very sick. Many of us also lost out on jobs, pandemic support from our state governments, and Partisan political bu****it that kept many production professionals from receiving the little bit of help that we basically had to beg our state to give us, regardless of the fact that we pay for it.
For many, myself included, I have bitterness from that period. You truly find your worth during times of intense pressure, and you find out just who finds you expendable.
This business does not have a healthy backbone to support us, the people who keep it running. I would like to talk to you and give you a few questions to answer, all anonymously of course, to get a good sense of the fiscal burden that we and lighting, video, audio, and staging dealt with during a period where millions of Americans died in the span of 18 months.
