How many of you just get on with getting on?
You live with something for a while, or maybe longer and get so used to it, it becomes your new norm.
It takes someone else to point out what's going on and for you to recognise it?
That blind spot that's there just outside your line of sight.
It was like that for me this weekend when I spent more time than usual with my sister whilst driving down to London.
For weeks now I've had an annoying cough, one of those dry, tickling repetitive coughs that's noisy and gets in the way of feeling okay.
So, after my sister commented to me, more than once, that it might be something worth getting advice from the doctor about I had an appointment on Monday.
The outcome was I had a chest infection that resulted in a course of steroids and antibiotics!!
Feeling as though the infection is shifting now got me thinking, how many times do we put up and shut up or not even recognise there is something to put up with.
We become so disconnected, disassociated, disappointed with ourselves, situations, life that we get on with getting on without experiencing the things that make being alive worth it.

‘What is the Science behind hypnotherapy?’…
Hypnotherapy brings about neurological changes by altering brain wave patterns and balancing neurotransmitter activity.
When we enter a hypnotic trance, the brain transitions to a state characterised by heightened suggestibility and focused attention, that is a state that we all naturally enter at least twice a day and can be likened to a state of deep meditation.
This altered state is associated with shifts in electrical activity, with a decrease in beta waves (associated with alertness) and an increase in alpha and theta waves (related to relaxation and creativity).
Neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins are also released, contributing to feelings of calmness, pleasure, and pain relief.
What’s more, hypnotherapy can impact neural networks involved in memory, emotion regulation, and perception.
By accessing the subconscious mind, it allows for the exploration and reprocessing of deeply ingrained thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns, potentially leading to neuroplastic changes and the establishment of new neural connections.
This neurological restructuring may underpin the therapeutic effects of hypnotherapy, facilitating the resolution of psychological issues and the promotion of mental well-being.

One of the things that most people were never taught about in school
Is the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind.
In fact, many not even hearing of these terms until recently – if ever.
A simple way of describing the distinction between them is-
Our conscious minds are the rational, pragmatic, fact-based parts of us that are very much in the here and now.
Whereas our subconscious is the part that holds our memories, feelings, emotions…
The creative part of our minds that doesn’t recognise the difference between, fact and fiction, imagination, and reality.
It’s also the part of us that keeps us alive and safe.
Where the programming of our body lies, the automatic healing, breathing, living systems.
It is this vast reservoir of memories, emotions, and beliefs that hypnotherapy facilitates change.
By entering a natural state of trance then deepening this through relaxation inducing techniques,
It allows access to inner thoughts and feelings that may have been buried or overlooked, sometimes for many years or even a lifetime,
Facilitating healing and transformation of the root causes of issues like feelings of anxiety, phobias, ‘imposter syndrome’, procrastination…
This empowers individuals to reframe their perceptions, overcome obstacles and create change in the areas of life that matter most to them.
Through this powerful tool of introspection and self-discovery,

What a difference doing something different can make.
Some days there are things to do: people to see, jobs to sort, children to care for, lists to create, shopping to shop for, meals to cook... and in between somewhere in the nooks and crannies maybe it’s time to find the chance to reflect, replenish and reignite.
