NoDa Social Ride

Saturday rides still rolling from at 11 am. We knock it out just before the serious heat sets in. Loving the rotating of ride leaders lately. led a great ride last week. This week is about 28 miles with Jackson (seen here as a part-time cycling model).

Thursday ride continues the “choose your own adventure.” Easy 10 mile loop with an option to add 5 miles at a quicker pace. Stopping at to meet up with and his new ride group.

Had some questions about Mondays. Our Monday 15 for 15 ride started as a bonus Monday ride with in the lead. It’s not in our bio, but we’re trying to keep this going all year. Solid urban ride at a quick pace starting at . Post-ride beers at during the winter and during the summer.

Thursday ride this week is rolling back to . Thursday is supposed to be our most social and relaxed ride. We want to keep that going all summer. For some of us… after a long day at work, 10-12 chill miles is the best option. For others… perhaps sitting at a computer all day, there’s a need to get some faster miles and then relax. So… we’re back to the “choose your own adventure” experiment. This week… you can ride 11 easy miles (the main route) or opt for 11 easy miles plus a bonus five mile sprint. We’ll all end up at the same destination and ride home together.

Saturday rides are going to start chilling out (a little) as the weather gets hotter. Still rolling 11 am from . This week, we’re watching the weather, but hoping for a simple 25-30 mile loop with a stop in Mint Hill. Also, mark your calendars for the first ever NoDa Social Ride garage sale at the Bike Van Garage. 1 pm on May 25th.

Saturday ride for this week… Rolling 35 miles to Tuckfest at the Whitewater Center. Hanging out for the festival. No formal ride back, so plan ahead for getting home.

Saturday plans for this week: Since the weather is cooling off again, we’ll do another long ride this week. Riding to Davidson. Options for 34, 43, 51, miles or a full metric depending on where you join us. Riders looking for a shorter route can join in at Kirk Farms Fields along the Mallard Creek Greenway. Planning ahead for your best Saturday ride this week… Best option in town is the in SC with all your favorite mountain biker buddies, but if you oversleep, we’ll be headed to in Concord for beers and burgers. Rolling from at 11 am. 45 miles roundtrip. 15 mph average.

Starting this Friday will be supporting the with their Bike Bus plan to facilitate safe riding to the monthly . Rolling from at 630 and on to the , will lead the group to First Ward Park. This is a particularly great option for new riders or families who might be intimidated making the trip uptown on busy roads.

Last night of the February karaoke rides is Thursday. This is a team up with the and to raise money for . Easy pace and less than 12 miles. Tell your friends. This will be great.

This month is Dive Bar January. All Thursday rides heading to some of our finest dives… show up and ride and see which spots we pick.

Last Saturday/longer ride of 2023 is December 16th… unless you want to join us for the Florida century ride on the 29th. Meeting 1 pm at in NoDa. 28 miles.

Heads up. This Saturday, we’re joining up with for their 7th Anniversary ride, party, and raffle (with some kick-ass prizes). There will be awards for doing cool s**t all year. Be at by 4 pm for an option of riding BYT on your MTB or doing a 20-mile urban ride. Option to meet up at at 3 pm to roll over there together.

Heads up to plan ahead. Saturday ride for November 18th will be a “choose your own adventure” on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Options for just an easy 17 downhill, 34, 50, or 70. All you have to do is meet us in downtown Damascus, Virginia at 10 am.

Monday bonus rides are back from November to April. Meetup is rolling at 7. 15-20 mile route (depending on temp). 14-15 mph strava avg. Wrapping up by a fire pit for half-priced beverages at .

October Saturday Rides. We’re back to a 2 pm default start time-always from . Great rides planned this month with , , and leading the way. No formal ride on the 14th—we’ll join up with at noon. All rides are 15 mph strava average. Quick, but not crazy.
