The Kinder Rotary Club met today at Roy’s Catfish Hut for the installment of President Landon Smith.

The KRC also honored Sarah Doolittle Rand for her years as Rotary Club President, where she served from 2020-2023. During her term as Club President over 7k was raised in grant scholarships for the community.

We also installed new Club Officers for the 2023-2024 year.

Menu: 2/3 pancakes, scrambled eggs, coffee
At the Kinder American Legion Hall

Pancakes will have syrup added on request and coffee is Community Coffee regular in a to-go cup with a lid (no sugar, no cream).

Must be present to get the to-go plate

Thanks to Maplewood Burgers, Community Coffee and Kinder Retirement & Rehab for helping make this possible.

It’s a quick 24 hour notice on social media and word of mouth only so help spread the info.

See you Thursday morning at the Kinder American Legion Hall for a free pancake breakfast drive-thru.

Eric Kuyper- Commissioner, Louisiana Dept Veterans Affairs, Cmdr. Of American Legion Post 244 in Kinder, and member of Governor’s commission on Veterans Affairs, was guest speaker at Kinder Rotary’s meeting on Tuesday, June 20. Guests were Tony Hebert, Woody Daigle, and Mayor Wayland Lafargue.
Eric told the club of the duties, functions and services available through the commission, as well as the Veterans Home and Cemetery located in Jennings.

Kristy Sampey, Tax Administrator, at Allen Parish School Board, was the guest speaker at the May 16 meeting of the Kinder Rotary Club. She gave a very interesting overview of her job and the systematic workings of the collection of parish sales taxes.
