Happy Halloween! 🎃 This year I didn’t dress up, but I had a fun time celebrating this American tradition with international visitors from Brazil, India and Tajikistan! Our first stop was the city’s old morgue (now a bar and restaurant) in Colorado Springs. 👻

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off this weekend when the flowers are in peak bloom! 🌸 Did you know the cherry blossom trees in our capital were a gift from Japan to the U.S. in 1912? 🇯🇵

About 3,000 of them are planted around the Tidal Basin and hundreds of thousands of visitors come every year to experience the beauty. The trees were a gift to symbolize friendship and foster goodwill between both countries. 🌏

I launched Puente Pro, LLC to provide important translation services to help bridge linguistic barriers (and thanks to amazing clients), I’ve been providing this since May! Now, it’s time to market and build new relationships ☺️ Please follow and share my new page for Puente Pro translation services.

Thank you! Gracias! Merci!

Hi! Hola! Bonjour! 😊 Let me introduce myself. My name is Gitzel Puente, and I'm the founder of Puente Pro, LLC. I'm a lover of languages and different cultures and am fluent in English, Spanish and French. 🌎️ I would consider my Italian language skills intermediate at the moment, but one step at a time!

I'm a native Spanish speaker born to Mexican parents 🇲🇽 and was born in the U.S. 🇺🇸 I grew up in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico until I was seven years old and then moved to my hometown of Yuma, Arizona.

I decided to launch this venture after nearly nine years as a local TV reporter and two years working as a bilingual communications officer for City government because I saw a need to bridge the language barrier gap, particularly within the Hispanic community. I've been lucky enough to work with amazing clients who see the importance of accurately translating information for their Spanish-speaking partners! 👏🏽

Puente Pro provides quality assurance and a fast delivery of translation services, while keeping in mind the cultural context. To learn more about the types of documents translated, clients I've worked with and contact information to get started on any of your translation needs, visit my linkin bio! https://linkin.bio/puentepro

The city’s center lit by candlelight tonight for the “Luminara di Santa Croce” ✨ Another beautiful tradition in Lucca! Today, September 13, the procession of the Volto Santo (Holy Face) takes place in the city’s center. I had no idea I would be experiencing so many wonderful Lucchese things when I decided to come study here two years ago. 🙏🏼

Anchor/Reporter

Hello. Hola. Bonjour.

My name is Gitzel. I’m a weekday reporter and weekend morning anchor at KJRH-Channel 2, the NBC-affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I grew up in southern Arizona by the Mexico-U.S. border and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University in 2011. I earned my Master’s degree in Mass Communications from Oklahoma State University on December 2017. Before starting at Channel 2, I reported at the local NBC stations in Palm Springs (KMIR) and San Diego (KNSD).

I’ve had the opportunity to report on different topics that include education, politics, crime, breaking news and natural disasters.

I have been honored to have been nominated for an Emmy twice! The most recent in 2019 for team coverage on the state-wide teacher walkout in Oklahoma. In 2015, I was nominated in the news breaking category about a little boy from Joshua Tree, CA who was swept away in a flash flood and miraculously survived.
