A free open captioned showing Sunday night of Passing Strange at the Salt Lake Acting Company. Get your tickets today! Information below....

Here is the invitation to Passing Strange that I was telling you about. Please feel free to share it with anyone who you think might be interested.

I’m writing in hopes of connecting with you and to share more about Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC) and our next production, Passing Strange. We want to offer you and anyone with Hearing Loss Live complimentary tickets to our Passing Strange Open Captioned Performance on May 1st at 6pm.

Here's a little bit about the show: Passing Strange follows a young Black man with an artistic soul raised in middle-class L.A. by his mother. Feeling pressured by White and Black American stereotypes of what it means to be Black, he finds himself, like James Baldwin, Josephine Baker, and Jimi Hendrix, needing to leave America to go to Europe to claim his identity. Yet, sometimes the journey leads us in unexpected directions to mirror what we need to learn. This story dives into universal themes of child and parent relationships, world expectations, and truly connecting to the deepest core of who we are. Told through rock n roll, punk, gospel, blues, pop , and R&B, this is not your typical musical theatre experience. This one will leave “fingerprints on your being.” Developed at the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab in Park City, Utah, it’s like bringing this story home. You can watch a trailer of the original Spike Lee production here.

Those who are interested can use the code SLAC4U online or call the box office and mention this invite. Our remote box office is available (phone/email only) Monday-Friday, 11am-5pm at 801.363.7522 or [email protected]. Attached to this email are a jpg and a pdf of the event information that you can use to share this with your group. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Come travel with Youth from America to Amsterdam and Berlin with this incredible cast and musicians. Buckle up for this timeless self-discovery journey to the real.

Thank you so much,
