Heading out on to the road alone with no destination or direction to go can be scary. In the same way that setting your own fitness, strength goals & referee aspirations alone can be daunting. You will get results quickly and you will get a moral boost from achieving those results. But it takes a special set of circumstances for someone to carry on making progress if their personal motivation drops or there is an obstacle in their way. Matchday bag. It’s Thursday and that is alway the day I get all the kit ready for the weekends fixtures. In the past Friday has sometime meant travelling so Thursday has always been the day to sort out kit. What do you have in your bag? What essentials and what extras? Spare kit, spare boots, spare flags, food, drinks, gels? What weird and wonderful items do you pack? For me I always have a 40cm length of tubigrip rolled up, never for use.
