Think teaching is all about getting the summers off? Think again!

This common misconception can make educators feel undervalued.

In reality, teaching is a year-round job that often extends well beyond the classroom. We need to appreciate our teachers for the tireless work they do.

Let’s dispel this myth and celebrate our educators for the superheroes they truly are!

15/04/2024

I get a lot of questions about networking - mostly, how to use it

Here are my tips:

1 - identify your goals and your target industry
Don't waste your time and your network's time if you don't know what you're looking for yet.

2 - Actually reach out to your network
A lot of people focus all of their energy on continually building their network, and that can be helpful, but you have to actually reach out to those you've connected with. Always follow up.

3 - Conduct informational interviews
This isn't weird or awkward, and they're pretty common. Just don't expect free help. Offer to buy a coffee, send a gift card, or even just pass along a thank you note.

My other two tips are available on my blog at https://www.carrieconover.com/blog/how-to-use-your-network-to-make-a-career-change
