This is the official page of Yukino Kikuta / Musical actor and singer. Her dream is bigger than just a performer!
Yukino is an artist from Tokyo, Japan who began classic piano training at the early age of five. She loved music but she didn't love the piano although her playing was so good that she won First Place as an accompanist at her Junior high school's choral contest for three consecutive years. Later her love of music was renewed while visiting her brother’s high school to see a musical production. She
was impressed to see cast members who could sing, dance and act and she wanted to be a part of it. She attended that same high school and she landed the lead role in a musical for each of three years. She loved performing in musical theatre and dreamed of becoming a professional one day. When Yukino attended Waseda University, one of the top universities in Japan, she joined the musical club called “SEIRIN," the largest college musical association in Japan. She soon realized how much more she had to learn and began to pursue more professional training by taking up private vocal lessons. As she started to become more serious as a professional, her vocal teacher made a suggestion; “Why don’t you go to New York?" He recommended that she should come to NYC to experience the musical form, first hand on Broadway. So Yukino arrived in NYC in January, 2015 and began studying English and Ballet, and continued her vocal studies. She has been auditioning for shows and has landed a role in the off-Broadway show “Comfort Woman” in summer of 2015. While Yukino is a new face in musical industry, she has a great vision for a career in the theatre. Yukino said “I want to perform on Broadway stage in the near future, but it can’t be my only goal. I want to inspire people through my performance and use my work to support and encourage people throughout the world. My parents teach disabled students in Japan, I respect their dedication and they are my role models. I think we should all aspire to use our talents to make a real contribution to our community and our world."
