30 years ago today, we staged benefit concert staged at Flint's Capitol Theater in '94, to raise funds and interest in the plight of an independent record chain, Rock-A-Rolla Records, which had it's assets seized in a civil forfeiture action. The rally received extensive local television and national press coverage. It was the first significant public push back against civil forfeiture, where property could be seized, before the conviction of a crime. It has now been nationally reversed, and I feel confident that we help draw attention to this travesty of justice.

David Asher is an individual who puts his whole heart and soul into his music, and it shows. From his time fronting Detroit's premier reggae / rock band, The Process, to his more recent work with DAB, he's been putting out original music for over 30 years.

The first new single since 2021's self-titled DAB LP does not disappoint. From the start of the track one finds themselves immersed with infectious rhythms and positive vibrations.

David's vocal delivery is raw and soulful, lyrical content is righteous. According to Asher... "about the Creator's protection from jealous bad-minded people, vampires and back-biters." The instrumentation sounds fresh, reggae lovers will want to hear this.

Production is high quality, by Mr. Asher and Chris Lewis. the sound is full, rich and crystal clear. Played in a club, this one is sure to get some motion on the dance floor!

In 1868, the British invaded Ethiopia, and looted treasures from the fortress of Maqdala, causing the death of the Emperor, and taking his young heir back to England. Since that time, the Imperial treasures, including Holy Talbot's (manuscripts), have been held in the British National Museum, and by private collectors. The late Ras Seymour Mclean (the book liberator), approached THE PROCESS to write a song to raise awareness of the situation. Return The Treasures (from THE PROCESS Who Is That Mad Band album), features mixing by Adrian Sherwood, and performances from Ghetto Priest, Little Axe (Skip McDonald), Mikki Sounds, and Lee Scratch Perry. In the international magazine Guitar World this month, a picture of Pigman, from THE PROCESS crazy stageshow, David Asher, and drummer Gabe Gonzalez, throwing down at Bemo's Bar in Bay City Michigan a few years back. 🤣🥳🎶🔥

We are happy to announce the new recording project we've been teasing about for a couple of months. It's a David Asher solo project, entitled DABTRONIC, where David is playing most of the instruments, and stretching into Electronic music, Dub, and Jungle. It's way to early to consider a release date but we have some great collaborators so far, including legendary UK Dubmaster Adrian Sherwood, Misled Convoy from New Zealand, and others, to be announced. It will also be featuring performances from some of the members of DAB David Asher Band. David is working again with Christopher Lewis at Fire Hyena Recording Studio. It's really exciting to experiment like this, and stretch the boundaries of what we have done up until now. David is excited to unleash it when it is ready for release. Stay tuned!
