When I was growing up in Cali there used to be these tapes that came out every year that had all the popping East coast rap on it. The first one I ever owned was called rap 87 I had every year after that until I moved away. Anyway I tried to recreate Rap 87 this weekend. I was able to find most of the original songs but I also added songs that I felt were worthy of representing 1987 even if people have some of these songs coming out in 1988. Hip hop moved so different then. There was no Internet but there was the swap meet / flea market / swap shop and they kept the coast connected better than the record store. I know I'm dating myself but it's a privilege to be here still excited by the music all these years later. Some song you may have forgotten and if you a younger person a lot of songs you may have never heard. Check it out if you are a connoisseur.

Met these two talented ladies in a Wawa in University City Philadelphia over 20 years ago. They were traveling with my family members in the circus at the time. We've always kind of been acquaintances and then the other night I went to check them out cause they are here in Orlando. It was what I needed.. I post a lot about creative process and keeping your head in the game but nothing is as inspirational as being around other entertainers/creatives. It was like chicken soup to the sniffles and body aches. I also made some other new friends it was exactly what I needed in this period of my life. I'm sure some would never imagined that they would be doing what they do 20 years later but passion is funny like that sometimes. What are you passionate about?

My Aunt is actually my grandmothers sister and if I learned anything from watching her is that your mind can be ageless and if you have good energy in the mind and thoughts your body will follow.
