From our friend, Captain Spike with Harbor Yacht Sales!
Notice To Mariners!!!!
Those travelling to points south of the Nice /301 Bridge please pay heed to the following verified restrictions. I spoke with the bridge construction offices today to verify as well as the Naval officials at Dahlgren regarding firing exercises.
There will be NO live fire exercises this week, weekend, and into the week following.
The Channel traversing the Nice/301 bridge will be closed from 8 am Friday June 30 to Sunday July 2 for demolition of the center span.
10-1030am Friday June 30 the US Coast Guard will inspect and approve a discretionary Captains channel WEST of the 3 center spans of the bridge. Approx. 200 yards to the Virginia side a channel of about 30 feet depth and 150 yards wide will allow vessels to pass at the Captains discretion.
A tow/tug vessel by the name of Katan will be standing by and monitoring VHF channels 13 and 16 to communicate with all vessels to ensure safe passage. If you have questions please contact them prior to making the pass.
There is still a NO WAKE zone approximately 1/3 of a mile before and after the bridge, please observe these markers.
These restrictions are for our safety and theirs so please respect the rules and have a safe voyage.

Potomac River Festival - June 11 - 12, 2022 Come check out the Potomac River Festival - a Colonial Beach tradition since 1951!
4 bed, 3 bath (1 partial) in Colonial Beach JUST LISTED
River is cooling off and the fish are getting hungry. The next two months should be great fishing 🎣
Cancelled!
The Fall Colonial Beach Rockfish Tournament has been postponed until 2020 due to limit restrictions and the desire to be good stewards of the Potomac River and her tributaries.
The fish bite has picked up and dropped off in a matter of days. The perch bite is good, catfish is good and Rockfish fell off a little. Muddy water and more moon slowed things down. Lots of fish on top of the water heading our way, Coles point area had lots of d**k Rockfish top water action. Also, a lot of crabs on top of the water, good sign.
The fishing is getting really good, top water for smaller fish is really picking up.

Funny
Don't forget the big tournament in Colonial Beach, Va.
Rivers warming up and hopefully less rain will mean more salt!
Great job CB

The rockfish bite is picking up when it is not too windy and raining from the 301 bridge to st clements island. Umbrellas and tandem rigs at tide change seem to work best. Troll slow........
Todays catch, great fishing
Palm Trees, Sandy Beaches and More in Colonial Beach via Alexandria Living Magazine - Colonial Beach Virginia Cover photo: Chris Militzer Chris Militzer, photo editor for Alexandria Living Magazine, had heard of Colonial Beach; he’d taken his daughter camping in nearby Westmoreland State Park numerous times. But it wasn’t until he started seeing photos of the Town on Instagram and Twitter–gorgeous sun...
The fish are here, the river is producing good numbers of Rockfish, Perch and Cats. Morning and evening bite is best!
The new boat ramp is open in Colonial Beach, wide and very easy to use. 4' to 5' of water slight incline.
Fishing has really picked up around Swan Point and St. Clements island!
