12/17/2022 - Thousands of volunteers placed wreaths on over 2.3 million graves across America. We honor those who have served, are still serving, and many who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the safety, security, and freedoms that we seem to take for granted in many cases.

We thank those and all who have or are serving still.

A Very Merry Christmas to you and your families!

Wild Woody’s Wild Ride 9.3.2022
Seven members from Charlotte Diocese rode in fellowship Saturday starting in Morganton at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The day started as most rides with a Rosary and prayers. Following, Fr Ken Whittington blessed the bikes and riders for safe journeys and travel.
From there we rode up Hwy 18 and made our first stop at Moravian Falls just south of Wilkesboro. Following pictures and break we continued up 18 and in a roundabout way, bypassed the city and continued north after rejoining Hwy 18. The temperature dipped as we went past Stone Mountain and leveled out about 3300 feet.
We reached our destination finally about one thirty at Wild Woody’s where we had lunch and beverages. Wild Woody’s is in itself a true name because it is one of the most interesting places this side of “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not”!! It can best be described as an oddities shop with everything from shrunken heads, to Halloween masks, to stuffed animals live and dolls, to old records and turntables and videos and books, to coffins and mummies and mannequins dressed in so many different and unusual outfits.
The entire strip stop is a hangout for bikers traveling through and along the Blue Ridge Parkway, as it sits right in the middle of beginning and end. When we rested and ate, we then got on the BRP and traveled south, stopped once at the gift shop and travel stop at mile 360, then on to Blowing Rock where we finally said goodbye to all the amazing scenery, mountains, overlooks, and great traveling, as each of us went our way home.
