History
I painted my very first name painting, as a gift for my cousin's little boy many, many years ago, and presented it in a very simple clip frame. I continued them as gifts for children of family and friends, and was then regularly asked by others who had seen them, if I would do the paintings for them to give as gifts, or for their own children. I started making my own frames after teaching myself, so as to keep the cost down. I eventually started making namebobs, which were also very popular, along with the smaller initialled pictures. Over the years, I have sold my work through many shops in and around London, including Bananas of Holland Park, Frog Hollow of South Kensington, Prezzies of Sicilian ave. Holborn, Matt 'n' Josh of Whiteleys Bayswater, Harvey Nichols in Knightbridge, Humla of Hampstead, and Membery's in Barnes. I have sold at craft fairs and at parties, hosted by mothers who have received name paintings as gifts for their children, and were thrilled with having their child's name painted. They have appeared on TV recently, and my name paintings hang on nursery walls all over the world, from Canada, through down to South America, across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Far East, and as far as New Zealand and Australia.
My work has featured in Woman Magazine, various Parenting Magazines, & most recently in Tatler. And recently I have exhibited at The Country Living Fair, & The Ideal Home Show.
