After a break we continue our series showcasing variable typefaces that go beyond the axes of weight, width, italics, slant and optical sizing. This time it's all about shading!

Variable Fonts: Decoration
Welcome to the third episode of our series showcasing variable typefaces that go beyond the axes of weight, width, italics, slant and optical sizing. This part is dedicated to the typefaces using a decoration axis without becoming decorative. 1. Alientz by Vika Usmanova 2. Format Shards by Andrew Bellamy 3. Ribbon by George Triantafyllakos 4. Shrill by Adrien Midzic 5. Boring Sans by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini

We continue our small series showcasing the typefaces that go beyond the axes of weight, width, italics, slant and optical sizing and thus demonstrate a more unusual approach to the variable fonts technology. The second part is dedicated to the typefaces made of animated patterns and textures: 1. Purple Haze by Font Spectrum 2. Breath by Dominik Krüger 3. Homecomputer by Jens Kutílek 4. Flicker by Daria Zorkina 5. Handjet by David Březina

With the variable fonts technology, a single font file can behave like an infinite variety of styles. In other words, there is one file, but it contains information on the entire font family, which helps speed up websites and make the typographic solutions more precise. In so doing, you can have as many axes of interpolation as you wish; however, the axes of weight, width, italics, slant and optical sizing are considered to be the most common. We are starting a small series showcasing the typefaces that go beyond them and demonstrate a more unusual approach to the variable fonts technology. The first part is dedicated to the typefaces with different kinds of distortion axes: 1. Wind by Hansje van Halem 2. Fungal by Jeremy Landes and Raphaël Bastide 3. Exposure by Federico Parra Barrios 4. Dusseldot by Maks Barbulović and Ilya Bazhanov 5. Ehrie by Blast Foundry

Freelance Designers → Branding Experience → Strong Typography → Contact [email protected] Студия DIA, показывающая кинетическую типографику на Таймс-сквер, рассказала в твиттере, что ищет фрилансеров с опытом в брендинге и сильной типографикой

A year ago we talked with ABC Dinamo https://type.today/en/journal/abcdinamo. And on July 24 and 25 you'll have the opportunity to talk to them too. The founders of the studio, Johannes Brayer and Fabian Harb, will come to Moscow and conduct a workshop on creating variable fonts at the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design. There are only 35 places at the workshop, and participants will be selected on a competitive basis. Therefore, remember your experience of working with typefaces, and tell about it at the link https://strelka.timepad.ru/event/1700564/ (If you have already worked with fonts, but are still a student, you will get a 50% discount)

Gauge
Наш большой рассказ про шрифт Gauge получился таким красивым и упорядоченным благодаря Павлу Кедичу (и технологиям Readymag). Если еще не видели — вы знаете, где искать 😏 Our larger-than-life profile of Gauge Type Family wouldn't be so beautiful and structured without Pavel Kedich (and the technology of Readymag). In case you missed the article, you know where to find it 😏
