Flashback: That time 10 years ago when 891 ABC Radio Exhumed The Saucermen for a National competition. Not often you get interviewed by Sonya Feldhoff walking off a stage after performing. Saucermen here at the Adelaide final (last 6) in 2013. Jack Counteract represented Adelaide for the bands that were unsigned, unrecorded, unrecognised locally. Great night and first gig for us after an 18 month layoff as Steve recovered from eye surgeries. Good times.
Some Saucermen fellas are off to talk to the wise and knowledgeable Philby from ThreeD Radio 93.7FM Lawnmower Music show from 2:30pm. Great chance for a bit of reflection, current creation discussion perhaps even future direction predictions as we embark on making music here in Adelaide. In particular making music on Saturday November 11th at The Hampstead Hotel with the Satellites and MC Philby. Tune in!

A photo of Steve Mitchell, (Satellites), Chris Hayne and David Bond who first started The Saucermen gigging 25 years ago at the Brickworks in 1998. (Chris and Steve then went onto start the Adelaide Kustom Kulture Weekend with 3 other folks in Damo, Moonie and Frank a few years later too). A great legacy to create in SA Rockabilly fellas and much admiration and thanks to you! So you looking for some fun then come down for dinner first at The Hampstead Hotel on Saturday 11th November from 8pm and see The Satellites and The Saucermen blast away some tunes in the Sports Bar. Entry is $10 at the door or pre-buy from Bambalam or the venue. Good times await!
Here we go again and we’re raring to go! Rumours of a Saucer-men get together are indeed true. Stay tuned fellow Jetsetters of The Milky Way. New tunes too! -men
It is with sadness that we hear of the passing of Rob Dunstan who has done so much in promoting live music in this state over many decades. Not just the many bands we have been involved in since the 80s but the countless other great SA musical acts, music venues and other cultural events happening here in Adelaide. Thank you Rob for such dedicated enthusiasm, passion and kindness in promoting the musical endeavours of SA acts for many years. Great photo by SA Music Awards and Helen Page (IG: helenpagee) of Rob accepting his award in the SA Music awards in 2017. Well deserved. Vale Rob. Rest peacefully.
Gig time!!! Get along folks to a great lineup of acts to the Metro and while you are there grab your copy of our latest CDs. Ghoulfriend and Alientology CDs are both available tonight for sale. So it’s been a while but we can’t wait to play and see you all at The Mash 2 tonight!
