Easy Peasy Split Pea Soup. Rinse two pounds of dried split peas in a colander. Put peas in a large soup pot with two diced onions, 2-3 cloves of garlic, 2-3 peeled cut up potatoes, 1 medium peeled cut up sweet potato, 2-3 sliced carrots, 2 stalks celery. Add 2 bay leaves (remove before serving), 2 Tbs Worcestshire sauce, salt, generous amount of pepper. Add as much water as packages recommend or as much as pot will hold, leaving about two inches at the top for boiling. It will bubble up with a froth. Cover. Simmer for 45 minutes. Stir often.
