LOOK HERE: Thirty (30) law students of the University of Mindanao College of Legal Education (UMCLE) took their oath as Level 2 Law Student Practitioners under the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) of the university.
The oath was administered by Hon. Judge Retrina E. Fuentes, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, Branch 10 of Davao City.
The law student practice is covered under Rule 138-A of the Rules of Court. The limited practice of law covers appearances, drafting and submission of pleadings and documents before trial and appellate courts and quasi-judicial and administrative bodies, assistance in mediation and other alternative modes of dispute resolution, legal counselling and advice, and such other activities that may be covered by the Clinical Legal Education Program of the law school.
The newly minted Level 2 law student practitioners will be under the supervision of Atty. Cloydie Mark A. Marcos, who also accompanied them during the oath taking.

The application for the 2024 Bar Examinations closes in 30 days, or on April 5, 2024. To apply, create or update your Bar Applicant Registration System and Tech Assistance (BARISTA) account, complete the online entries, upload the required documents, pay the fee exclusively through the BARISTA, and submit |the printed and signed BARISTA-generated application form along with the required documents to the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) within ten (10) calendar days from notice of approval of application. Please be assured that your application will be processed as long as you have uploaded all the mandatory documents and paid the fee in full before the deadline.

Law students of the University of Mindanao College of Legal Education (UMCLE) showcased their grit and wit during the Day 2 of the annual sports festivity.
Elimination games for basketball and volleyball(men and women), extemporaneous speaking, essay writing and parlor games were held at the UM Bolton Campus.
Tomorrow, the third and final day of the tourney, activities will move to UM Matina Campus. Participants are expected to display their might once more to capture the highly-coveted crown.
LOOK HERE: The University of Mindanao College of Legal Education (UMCLE) formally opened Casus Belli 2024.
This three-day event will showcase the talent of UM Law students in the field of sports and academic-related competitions. The event will be held from March 1-3, 2024 with first two days of the activities held at the Bolton Campus while the culmination will be in the Matina Campus.
Four teams will square-off to bring home the highly-coveted title. Participating teams adapted the theme from the popular animated fantasy television series Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Team monickers as designated are: Freshmen as Earth Kingdom, Sophomores as Air Nomads, Juniors as Fire Nation and Seniors as Water Tribe.
Casus Belli officially opened with the debate and Mobile Legends tournaments, talent night of of Mx Legatus and OPM Dance Craze.
Present in the event are UMCLE Dean Atty. Antonio B. Arellano and members of the faculty.
Casus Belli 2024 is organized by the UMCLE Student council headed by Gov. George Juris Ching.
LOOK HERE: The University of Mindanao (UM) College of Law honored the success of the newly-minted lawyers who passed the last 2023 Bar Examination during the Testimonial Dinner held at UM Matina Campus.
University President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres, Jr. graced the event along with UM Law Dean Atty. Antonio B. Arellano and Associate Dean Atty. Prince Arthur Neyra.
The newly-minted lawyers shared their testimonies on how they hurdled the challenges posed by the Bar examination. They also expressed their unending gratitude to UM Law for providing them all the things they needed to ace the examination.
The event was organized by the UM Law Student Council spearheaded by Governor George Juris Ching.

The University of Mindanao College of Law proudly welcomes its new faculty member, Atty. Nyll Gabrylle R. Gascon, CPA. He passed the September 2023 Bar exam, ranked 10th in the May 2019 CPA Licensure Examination, and is a Certified Tax Technician.

LOOK HERE: Students of the University of Mindanao (UM) College of Law had the chance to listen to the expertise of Atty. Caesar Europa regarding the salient points on the 2019 Rules of Civil Procedure. The event was held on January 20, 2024, at Audio Visual Room (AVR) 1 of the UM Bolton Campus.
In his talk, Atty. Europa imparted some of the most essential features of the amended rules of Civil Procedure. He further explained the importance of being well-acquainted with the rules as future law practitioners.
Moreover, Atty. Europa also shared some tips on applying the rules in practice and giving students a clear overview of how it is done in actual practice.
The event was one of the first lecture series organized by the UM Law Student Council headed by Governor George Juris Ching in cooperation with Rex Bookstore.
Also in attendance was the esteemed Dean Atty. Antonio B. Arellano who congratulated the council for organizing the event.

LOOK HERE: Law students under the Clinical Education Program (CLEP) of the University of Mindanao (UM) College of Law conducted a talk among Grade 12 Senior High School students under the Technical-Vocational- Livelihood Track of Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School.
The activity dubbed as “Awareness as the Key: Labor Standards for Gen Z,” aimed to empower the next generation of workforce among K-12 Graduates as the students will embark on their journey as employed individuals after their graduation. The resource speaker of the talk was Atty. Marrie Angela D. Santiago.
The Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) of the UM Law is under the supervision of Atty Cloydie Mark A. Marcos.
It is finished but the journey has just begun.
The three-day 2023 Bar Examinations has ended with a warm Salubong by different Law Schools around Mindanao on September 24, 2023 in front of the Ateneo de Davao University Bangkal.
Hugs and congratulations were in order as the UM Bar takers were welcomed by their families and the UM Law community.
It is announced by the Bar Chair Justice Hernando that the results, oath taking, and signing of the roll will all be taking place in December.
We pray for our UM Bar takers the best and we believe that they will conquer this battle.

The Final Battle Commences
On the last day of the 2023 Bar Examinations, the UM Law community headed by the esteemed Dean Atty. Antonio B. Arellano and Associate Dean Atty. Prince Arthur Neyra, was full support in sending off the Bar Takers this morning at Hitolicious Place, Bangkal, Davao City.
The last day of the Bar Examinations will cover the subjects Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics.

CONQUERING THE UNKNOWN
University of Mindanao-College of Legal Education distributed necessary kits to its 2023 Bar Examinees on September 20, 2023 at the Hitolicious Place, Bangkal, Davao City.
The morning was drizzly but our Bar Bets were early to arrive to continue their fight for that coveted title. The UM Law Bar Operations volunteers, and the UM LAW Faculty were present to show support to our bar takers.
It is not yet finished but the UM Bar Takers will surely make it. Ga, U are Making it and you will TriUMph with Glory.

Law students and law professors of University of Mindanao (UM) College of Law gathered in front of local testing site of Bar Examinations at AdDU Bangkal to show support to barristers who just finished the first day of the 2023 Bar Examinations.
Members of student council also prepared food and goods for the barristers.

On September 14, 2023, 22 UM Law students have taken their oath for the Level 1 Certification, under the Clinical Legal Education Program, at the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 with the presiding Judge Rowena Apao-Adlawan.
Atty. Cloydie Mark Marcos, the supervising lawyer of CLEP is also present during the ceremony.
The CLEP is the recent program by the Legal Education Board to help prepare the law students for the reality of the legal field.
FULL SUPPORT! The University of Mindanao (UM) College of Law headed by the esteemed Dean Atty. Antonio B. Arellano together with the law professors, Bar Operations Committee Chair, Vice Chairs showed their support to the 2023 UM Law Bar Candidates during the first day of the examination held at Ateneo de Davao, Bangkal Campus. This will be done on September 17, 20 and 24.
To pass the bar, candidates are expected to hurdle the six core subjects namely: Political and Public International Law; Commercial and Taxation Laws; Civil Law ; Labor Law and Social Legislation; Criminal Law; and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises.

LOOK | University of Mindanao College of Law kicked off the 2023-2024 school year through face to face General Student Orientation held at AVR 3, University of Mindanao Bolton Campus last August 16, 2023.
Law students from every year level were introduced to their new school professors, learned about school services and policies, and were given a chance to take home law books sponsored by Rex Bookstore.
Highlight of the event was the recognition of the year level Deans Listers who were able to finish the Academic Year 2022-2023 with outstanding performance.
In his speech, Dean Antonio Arellano challenged the law students to "do better than their best" in their academic learning at the University of Mindanao College of Law.
Also present during the event were Assistant Dean Prince Arthur Neyra, Atty. Enrique Bonocan who gave the opening speech, and other UMCLE faculty and staff.

The University of Mindanao College of Law is happy to announce that retired Deputy Ombudsman of Mindanao Rodolfo Elman, and Region XI Incumbent Deputy Regional Prosecutor Barbara Mae Pagdilao-Flores will be joining the UM Faculty of Law this school year 2023-2024.
This is made possible upon the invitation of UM Law Dean Antonio Arellano, who is himself an authority in Constitutional Law.
Prosecutor Pagdilao-Flores, who just recently returned from a Humphrey Fellowship in the United States will share her expertise in Criminal Law.
Former Deputy OMB Elman will handle the course in Local Government and Public Corporation Laws.
Judge Lailani Vagilidad, a former UM Law faculty member will return to teach Practice Court.
