Non-performing as of yet, all attention is in writing and recording presently. Check it out! That would be our goal.
We (Joe and John) worked on writing songs and music for at least 15 years now in a number of genres. Schedules and life in general is prohibitive to doing 'the band thing' so we were content to trade notes and noodle around when possible. In 2008 we started hosting live jams when we could and had a blast, getting family and friends involved, and hopefully inspiring more than a few of our younger c
lan to get more involved and increasingly interested in music. While we both each have probably hours and hours worth of music written, a little surprise happened when we sat down and made something quite folk-y when everyone (especially ourselves) probably expected a heavy metal output. (That project is still coming eventually, but will be better because of what we are doing today)
With Patch of Grass, and The Raven right after it, we mapped out a 14 or 15 track CD that should cover a range of sounds within the folk/classic rock influences. Each song is very dear to us (and more than a few frustrating) and we can't wait to share the whole thing. Art has already been started and we hope to properly print a small run of them for any friends or family who would like a copy. They ain't real I guess but it shouldn't break your CD player... hopefully. We are blessed to be able to work with Ziggy, who is a great musician and has an unmatched ear for sound and engineering - our initial work has been a lot of Joe and I overdubbing so we are slowly getting out of that habit and hoping to do this properly. Michelle has a wonderful vocal range and spirit that we feel is a perfect fit to the music and we can't wait to share her lyrical chops with you guys - you will not be disappointed. We're not trying to be 'rock stars,' except for in our children's eyes possibly. We mostly love what we do for a living and would only hope we can devote a little more time in the future than the middle of the night to working on this stuff. Thanks for the support we get already from family and friends and other networks we post on. Help us out by sending some new fans in (or hecklers, either way). We are just having a great time with it and hopefully some of that comes out of your speakers when you hear the tunes.
