Just what you didn’t know your Friday night needed…Goat Roping! 🤪🐐🤠
It’s been a little while since I’ve had a cute Arabian in to put some miles on. This boy is so smart & expressive! 🎠
👑 Meet “Good to be King”, aka: Simba! 🦁
Simba is a 2008, 15.2-3hh Chestnut TB gelding by ‘87 Triple Crown Contender, Gulch.
He has primarily been ridden out on the trails since I’ve had him, and so far that seems to be his happy space. He’s bold and willing to lead, not looky, goes over what you point him at, and is thoughtful & willing when checking out new things. Has been around cattle, dogs, chickens, etc. I don’t think he’s spent much time in the arena on pretty flat work, but does everything he’s asked, is a really nice mover, soft mouth, neck reins, works off your leg, etc. (Link to video at bottom) No buck or bs under saddle, even after time off.
I had purchased this handsome guy last fall with little/no history to offer him a soft landing and a restart. He was turned out all Winter & Spring, had a few rides here and there when time allowed…and now that we’re already approaching fall, I’m realizing there’s just no spare time for me to finish out a personal project right now.
He’s been getting back in shape on the eurocizer the last few weeks, has a fresh set of shoes (He’s been sound barefoot for the last 6-8 months, I just had front shoes put on since our trails are a little hard this time of year), and is utd on vacc/deworming. Does well in a stall or herd situation. Since he’s on the greener side / in need of some finishing out, I’d recommend an Intermediate rider (or an advanced beginner in a program). He’s ready to partner up with his own person to explore the trails or expand his knowledge in whatever other venture awaits!

Off to a busy start this morning! ☀️
Friday nights in Creston 🤠
Oh sweet Ares. I hope you’re absorbing all those *good boy* lessons from Cat. 💕
It was pedicure day today and Nugget just can’t stop admiring his new kicks. ✨ Thanks !
When you wanna do all the cool things the mules on TikTok do, but all you’ve got is an Appy pony that’ll do anything for a snack... 🤪🤡
🇺🇸
😎
What really amazes me is that it only brought $1k!
These kiddos are visiting their Grandma this Summer, and had so much fun riding on Tuesday, they came back for another round this morning! 🦄✨
For a horse that’s actually flag broke, Specklebutt sure has strong feelings about OTHER horses with flags. They’re his nemesis at rodeos. 😆🐴🇺🇸😳
That OTTB Mare though? First time ever with the flag and took it like a pageant pro! 🦄
I accidentally double booked myself this morning 🤦🏼♀️😅 Thankfully Nancy & Tammy were plenty accommodating, and we made it a Haffie party. 💛
No rest, even on Sundays! 🐮🏇🏼🤠
Oscar and I managed 5th out of 22 teams in the first round at Team Sorting this morning…I was less than helpful in the second round. 🙃😂 Then we loaded up and headed to Creston in time for roping practice!
If anyone is looking for the real-deal ranch gelding, you’re gonna wanna look out for this bay horse! 5yo, started & brought along by Oscar for his owners. Working great on the heel side, has pretty reining & pattern work, and will work all day outside. He’s gonna take someone really far and is priced accordingly. 😉 DM me! 🦄
This is exactly what your horse imagines is gonna happen when it sees & spooks at that plastic bag…🤣
Back to Salinas…But the view’s a bit different this time…🐮🤠
Nugget with a gleaming golden coat & Tammy with a smile brighter than the sun! ☀️
So grateful to Carrie for allowing us to continue enjoying this sweet pony. He has so much to offer my lesson program!
Cat, I don’t think that’s quite right…😂
Throwback to one of the really cool Makeover horses I had back in 2014!
We’re proud to support Nikki Egyed and OTTB Casanova on their journey to compete at the Ultimate X Showdown barrel race.
Casanova is wearing a set of The Classic Real Deal Legacy Boots. Find them in six fun colors at http://bit.ly/RW-ClassicLegacyBoots.
You have to check this guy out! He was at Salinas this weekend and I got some pics & video I’ll share later when I get caught up. Very impressive horsemanship!!
PRICE REDUCED!! 💸
🏴☠️ Meet Dempsey! 🏴☠️
This tall, dark and handsome guy is nearing the end of a 60 day tune up and is ready for his next family to enjoy!
Dempsey is a 2005 black AQHA gelding, standing a solid 16hh. Don’t be fooled by this one’s age though, there’s still A LOT of fuel in the tank!
I think he’d be best suited in a trail riding home with a confident / competent rider looking for a fun, fit horse that has miles & experience, but isn’t a dead-head / babysitter. Bridles up and has a solid W/T/C/Stop but is a very forward & energetic ride in the arena. Not a mean bone in his body, just more go than woah, so Intermediate+ rider is recommended!
Not looky or spooky on the trails or in new places. Has been around cattle, goats, chickens, dogs, etc. and gets along well with other horses (lower on totem pole). Current owner’s daughter previously used him for HS rodeo events, but he has been sitting a couple years while she’s been busy with collage. Could probably go back on some patterns, but would likely require maintenance at this stage in life.
Dempsey is UTD on vaccines/dewormer, is currently shod, and was Chiropracted mid-June. Very easy keeper, content outside or stalled. Loads/hauls/ties perfect, easy to saddle, bathe, does all the mannerly things a senior gentleman should. ONLY vice here is he can be hard to catch in a large pasture. Will jog around & be evasive, but if you chase him and make him work a minute, he understands and gives up VERY easily.
Located in Paso Robles, CA. Contact Nikki with any questions or to set up a time to come meet him!
Asking $3️⃣5️⃣🥕🥕 and open to reasonable offers. He’s coming from a really great family that will be prioritizing the very best fit for him!

I forgot to grab a pic before I got settled into the stands, so we’ll just re-share last year’s! 😜
With that said, send all your best luck wishes to Oscar & Riker in the Open Ranch Horse class at the California Mid-State Fair this afternoon! 🤠🏆
Update: They WON the Pro / Open!! 🎉
Wishing these two the best of luck today in the Ranch Horse Show at the !
It’s scary to image what colic looked like before sedatives and anti-inflammatories. 💔
“Sadly, Farlotta had never been wormed before we got her. So we’d worm her every three months. And I would be so pleased to see all these little blood worms in her stool, not realizing that we weren’t getting all the worms. We were just getting that batch. And she had chronically colicked. But I could always walk her out of it. And, you know, we didn’t have medications at that time, 65 years ago. You didn’t do anything except lead them around. When she was seven, she severely colicked. I can hardly talk about it to this day. I ended up tying her down because she was running into all the fences. She died in my arms.” | Sheila on

Ya never know what kind of adventures will pop up on a trail ride…Like an injured crow. 🐦⬛ Carrie scooped it up and carried at least 1/2 a mile back, and now it’s tucked away with some wet chicken food while we await a return call from Pacific Wildlife volunteers.
Happy Saturday! 🐴🌤️
These Haflingers sure camouflage right into the Paso hillsides!
I won’t lie, it took me a bit longer than most for me to trust this guy outside of the arena! 🙃🤪 Working on that whole codependency & overcoming the urge to throw a tantrum like a toddler that dropped their ice cream. We’re getting there though! 🤞🏼🤣
