East Anglian Elite Football Academy
East Anglian Elite
Specialist football coaching for a range of age groups in partnership with a numb
Good Afternoon
I hope you are all safe and keeping well in these unprecedented times. It is fantastic to see grassroots football beginning to get back to normal as many of your children return to their teams and begin to play friendlies ahead of hopefully a full restart soon.
With this in mind we met last week to discuss EAE and our plans moving forward. For those of you who don't know, James is an Assistant Head Teacher at a primary school in Peterborough and has been working throughout the Covid pandemic. His experience in dealing with children's safety and the logistics of meeting legal guidelines gives us a huge advantage when looking at running EAE safely. We pride ourselves on 'doing things properly' at EAE and it is important for us that we are completely transparent with you.
The issues we have are;
We don't have a private facility - we share 1 pitch with up to 4 other groups a night.
We have at least 60 children in the academy. In order to run sessions safely and meet recommended guidelines we can run sessions with a maximum of 12 children being led by 1 coach. Meaning we could only have 48 children a night, this obviously doesn't work.
Times for sessions would need to be staggered to allow children to arrive and leave safely, therefore sessions would need to be shorter. This would obviously affect what we feel we could fairly charge you for sessions and wouldn't cover our running costs.
Toilets are shared by the whole facility, even if they open all toilets available it cannot be safe.
For this reason we don't believe that now is a safe time for us to re- start. Our plan is to see how grassroots and schools go upon their return in September and continue to monitor the government and FA's advice. We will then review again in October half term. Although we could potentially cut a few corners and 'force' this to work for us we believe it would go against what we believe at EAE and hinder the professional approach to our work.
Whilst we are aware of other companies and organisations still operating we simply do not feel comfortable putting our staff, players and parents at any risk at this time. We will return, bigger and better but have made this decision for the time being for the benefit of everyone connected to EAE.
We appreciate your ongoing support and patience, and look forward to seeing and working again with you all soon.
James and Mark
With today’s announcement regarding social distancing being relaxed to 1m plus we have today formed a collaboration agreement with one of our former coaches Craig Hill Coaching who will be able to facilitate all your child’s 121 coaching needs until the return of full time training.
Please get in touch for more details
Well done Josh.
Amazing gesture from one of our most promising young players ⚽️👍🏻
Boy’s gift to Yaxley teachers brings tears Shining star Year One pupil at Fourfields Community Primary School in Yaxley, Joshua Baines, has cycled his way into the hearts of his teachers.
We nominate all our EAE players to beat our Head coach Mark in the Keepy up challenge. One attempt only, so don’t cheat. Winner gets a prize and videos must be posted on this thread. Closing day is this Sunday.
Good luck ⚽️
12 and a half to beat 🤷♂️✅
Amazing turnout from our players last night in what is a difficult time for all concerned.
We will keep you updated of developments with regards to training but as it stands after a conversation with our insurers today it would be difficult to continue while government restrictions are in place and we would not want to put anyone at risk.
Football brings everyone together and for the time being it has been put on hold.
Stay safe, support each other and keep smiling 😁
EAE staff ⚽️
What are parents general thoughts on a continuation of our training programme in light of events going on ?
Common sense will prevail but as a business input from you is vastly important to make things sustainable on/off the pitch.
Please be open and honest in your comments
Thanks
EAE

We have games against Peterborough United academy confirmed for our younger age groups who train with James. Our understanding is there may be some grass roots clubs also attending. They are on Dec 16/17.
If there is a clash can you inform us who your child will be representing on the night.
Thank you
We have 5 outstanding training fees remaining. If you believe this could be you can you please arrange to settle as we are now 8 weeks overdue in the new block. Anyone unsure or have any questions please ask.
EAE
Unfortunately due to staff illnesses there will no training tonight.
The session will be replaced at the end of the block meaning a 16th December finish instead of the 9th.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
If you could tag as many people as possible in this post to inform them it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
We now only have a select few training block fees outstanding. If you are one of these players/parents still to settle can you please now do so as we are 2 months into our training for the term. If you are unsure whether this applies to you please ask staff and we can accommodate as always.
Thank you
Matches v Peterborough United pre- academy will be played on Dec 16th for a select group in the Under 7/8’s category. Keep telling your children to carry on working hard to push for selection in these newly arranged games.

Why does it always rain on a Monday. 🤷♂️🤣
Certainly not the result we wanted from an English point of view but great to see so many of the EAE boys and their families enjoying the game.
Thanks for coming along and representing us in your jerseys too 👍🏻👌🏻
