People of the People
Social Development Organisation
People of the People, a newly founded NPC, going about gaining assistance with carrying out our outreach work.
Our aim is to provide transformative solutions to disadvantaged communities.
Please help!
We are seeking support for two families who live in a detached maisonette that recently caught fire.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, just after a period of load shedding. Fortunately, no one was injured, and we are extremely grateful for that. However, the city authorities have informed us that as homeowners, we are responsible for repairing the damages ourselves.
These homes were provided to the poorest of the poor here in Pelican Park under the RDP housing program. The residents here heavily rely on government grants, such as SASSA and pensions, making it impossible for them to afford home insurance.
The upper floor of the maisonette needs to be replaced, and the families currently living in the lower section are experiencing extreme cold conditions. Our goal is to rebuild the top section of these homes.
We kindly request assistance with acquiring building materials and the necessary roof structure. Any form of help would be immensely appreciated.
So far for both houses, we know that we need approximately 1600 cement blocks. Roof tiles, cement and wood panels.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
๐ Stand Up Against Unfair Amendments! ๐ค๐ซ
We, at People of the People, recently organized a picket demonstration to protest against the unjust amendment to the Employment Equity Act. ๐ฟ๐ฆโ
๐ด Background:
The recently proposed amendments threaten to undermine the hard-fought progress towards equality and fairness in the workplace. As an organization dedicated to advocating for equality and social justice, we couldn't stand idly by while such detrimental changes were being pushed through.
๐ข The Picket Demonstration:
Yesterday, our passionate supporters and community members gathered at Pelikan Park to raise our collective voice against this unfair amendment.
๐ค Together We Are Stronger:
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing individuals who joined us in this crucial endeavor.
โจ The Power of Unity:
By standing together, we amplify our voices, making it impossible to ignore the pressing concerns and rights of marginalized groups.
๐ Join Our Movement:
This fight is far from over! We urge everyone who believes in a just society to join the movement.
