We had SUCH fun having @lanni.n teaching an Afro-Inspired class last night! 😍 I’ll be suprised if any of my seniors can walk today hehe! So great to have the blood pumping, the brain working and the dance floor vibrating! Thanks Bulelani, you absolute queen!!! 🤴🏾
Thank you for 4 amazing years! It would not be possible without the support and energy of our dancers, their families and my own fabulous family! Thank you for ALL you do to make Movement and Miller an AMAZING place to dance! We are so proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. At Movement and Miller, we are passionate about encouraging confidence building, teamwork, and personal growth. Beyond creating talented dancers, we want our students to be good people both in and out of the dance studio. This mission would not be possible without the trust and support of our studio families. Parents we would like to thank you for supporting your child’s love of dance, thank you for making sure your child has everything they need for class, thank you for reading our WhatsApp’s! Our studio turns 3 today!! 🎉🥳💖🕺The studio is driven by a deep love for dance, joy, creativity, a sense of community and collaboration and courageousness! We are so grateful for the love and support we have received over the last year and look forward to wonderful year ahead! What a privilege it is to be engaging in what we love every day!!
I’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to our parents, dancers, dance lovers and supporters for this wonderful, full year of dancing fun and many firsts for our little studio! 💗💜💗💜 Some 2022 highlights include… 🕺the introduction of NEW classes! The 6-9 year Modern Jazz class, which has grown into a class of super talented little pocket rockets! An open Contemporary class facilitated by the awesome Chesney Stanfield, which produced some beautiful work for both competition and performances this year. 🕺The Cape Town Eisteddfod, at Sea Point Civic Centre. All dancers participating worked incredibly hard on their pieces and all of them competed for the very first time ever! We WON both sections! 🕺MANACAN workshop with the powerful duo that inspires and pushes you to your limits! 🕺’Against All Odds’ , hosted by New World Dance Theatre, at the Artscape Theatre in June. 🕺The Enchanted Garden- Our very first full STUDIO SHOW! It was such a highlight, for many, as the kids formed lasting bonds with their dance friends, made new connections, and felt the joy of performing on stage for an audience for the first time. A totally invaluable experience! 🕺The introduction of the ‘Movement and Miller’ Wall of Fame! 🕺studio bathroom makeover! 🕺A wonderful 6 week stretch course with the guru of flexibility! 🕺Our annual medal tests! 2023 brings more opportunities and we are so looking forward to diving in head first!
Medal Test Mania Round 1 done and dusted!! End of year performance assessments are always great fun and provide young dancers with an opportunity to present work in a more formal setting without the pressure of a full technical exam. They promote focus in the last few weeks of the year, build performance skills and encourage connection with fellow dancers 👯♀️ and who doesn’t love getting a medal 🏅!!
