Police in the Free State say they are investigating a charge of attempted murder against the suspects of the alleged racial attack at the Maselspoort Resort in Bloemfontein.

Police had initially opened common assault docket against the suspects.

Police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says the investigator in the case is now working on the directives from the senior state prosecutor.

Two teenage boys were allegedly accosted by a group of white men at the Maselspoort Resort swimming pool on Christmas day.

A video of the incident is doing the rounds on social media.

Makhele says they expect suspects to appear in court soon.
