Good news testimony 🙌

One of our guys, HUGH (pronounced "U") got married earlier this year to his beautiful wife, Evie. Angelo had the privilege of attending the ceremony and we must admit, Hugh cleans up quite nicely! 😉

We are beyond thrilled to have Hugh as part of our team. He is an absolute joy. He is ever so loyal, committed and always has a smile on his face. Hugh has never missed a day of work except when he was brutally attacked in his family home one night in Fisantekraal. We cried when his Dad, Lionel, who was one of our foreman, called us frantically on a Saturday night at 11pm to give us the news. We were just about on our way to Fisantekraal to go and fetch him but fortunately a family friend could get him to the hospital sooner! ❤️ We would hate to lose such a joyful soul in this world and we are THRILLED he is okay.

Hugh has fortunately recovered well and was back at work the following week after his injury, albeit a bit shaken.

We praise the Lord for his grace and mercy over Hugh's life and we wish him and his wife and their daughter all the very best!! ❤️❤️

A pair of shoes. 👞
Never before has a pair of school shoes meant so much to our business. But, they are the means by which one of our workers who was consistently giving us challenges, changed his perspective and attitude to work and its a very inspiring story.

Angelo employs guys on a contractual basis to see what their work ethic, commitment, ability and skill level is at. He hears from the other guys how they work and whether they are an asset or a liability OR where he needs to focus training on with this individual. After about the 30th incident (we are being dramatic but to be honest that is often how it goes with the guys) and constantly reaching out and supporting him, Angelo had started wondering if he should let this guy go. Until this worker needed a pair of shoes for his child.

This worker begged Angelo to come and work because his child needed a new pair of school shoes. It was pouring with rain, it was a Sunday and Angelo didn't have the resources to provide him with work. But he said to him that he can come. This worker worked outside in the pouring rain, working on machines and helping to clear up the garage. He worked tirelessly and without complaint. All for his daughter who needed shoes (side note - Angelo was also out there with him). At the end of the day, Angelo pulled him into the office and spoke with him about his concerns and his hesitency to employ him permanently based on his record. They spoke through that and what is expected and they came to a nice agreement. The worker was on his way, with a day's wage (and of course, all the money he needed for the shoes as well). Since then he has not caused problems, he has not created chaos for the business and has been an exemplary worker since.

THAT is the heart of this business. Grace upon grace. No matter how many times you mess up, these guys have a place to return to that promise to extend grace towards them and show them love. Sometimes tough love, but always L O V E.

A HIGH 😁 👌 💥

ANGELO HAD A BABY! 👪 His wife, Emma, managed to send some photos through for us to see how Angelo was finding fatherhood and by the looks of it - he's having a great experience. Emma said he is the most doting, loving, affectionate Dad to his little girl and is absolutely smitten with her. 🩷

Meet Rosanna Louise Jenneker. Her name has is very significant and carries a very special meaning. Emma's Dad gave them the name when Emma was just 5 weeks pregnant (they didn't even know if baby was a girl yet!) after he listened to a song called "For Rosanna" by Chris De Burgh. It's a Dad who wrote a song about the day his daughter was born and how his life changed after that. Emma's second name is Rose and her Mom's second name is Anne. Angelo's late Mom, who he adored, was named Louise. Rosanna means "dawn" and "bright" but also means "beautiful and full of grace". Louise means "warrior".

As Emma so beautifully summarized for us: "Our little daughter. The dawn that will bring new life into our lives. Our brave, beautiful warrior, full of Grace!"

What more could we want prophesied over her? 🤭

We are so thrilled for Angelo Jenneker and his growing family! 😁👌 Thank you to our loving clients who have been so generous, leaving a payment or two extra to bless his family or a cot and some clothes donated to help fill her room and cupboards. Angelo and his wife have been so blown away by the care, love and generosity that our clients have extended towards their family. You guys are AWESOME and we so appreciate YOU!!! 😃🙏

Rosanna has already enjoyed one day on the job with her Dad when she was just a week old! We love seeing these two together! 👨👶👨‍🍼

Rosanna came in the middle of all the chaos and in the middle of the storm. But we believe her name meaning "Dawn" carries huge significance! Spread some love in the comments to welcome this precious little girl into the Altar Gardening Services and share in our joy! 😁💛👏

A HIGH 😁💚💥

Still our truck difficulties continued. For some reason every vehicle had issues. Weirdly so, the same issues, random ones or completely different - we had them all. On this day you see pictured here where the team were off loading into Angelo Jenneker 's family car, Angelo nearly threw in the towel. He instructed the driver to just get the vehicle to the church (Angelo's other place of employment where he serves as the youth pastor and who have so graciously allowed us to use their space from time to time in desperate situations!) And then everyone can go home, he's canceling the routes for the day. The guys, though, were determined and showed phenomenal perseverance through the stormy weather (and the stormy time!). They insisted on seeing the day through - albeit in the Honda Jazz! 🚗

We won't lie, the Jazz did smell a bit afterwards having petrol cans, lawnmowers and soaking wet bodies in it BUT the smell of perseverance and hope was far stronger! 💪😃

When you support our business, you support these guys! That are so determined to work through the worst conditions to continue providing for their families. Please continue to support us, so that we can continue to support them and the people they are providing for! 😃💚🙏

A LOW 😕🫣😭

Just one week before the biggest week our business owner was going to have in his life, the week of breakdowns happened. It was the week where all the weather warnings were out and we experienced the heaviest rains and the strongest winds. It felt almost symbolic in our business too because after 6 months of zero breakdowns, one day in this week, every single truck broke down! 🫣

The stress was unreal and we were very aware of how something like this in a small business, like ours, could ruin it. Angelo became quite despondent in this time and it was hard to keep our heads above water. ⛈️

Please drop Angelo some encouragement below as he continues to fight through these truck struggles! 👇 We've had to phase out the repairs on the vehicles to try and keep the business running and keep these guys working! So we not out the storm yet, but we certainly finding our way through it - trusting God wholeheartedly through it all! 🙏💚

Can you spot the bright eyed and beaming smile of Angelo Jenneker, our business owner? I'll give you a hint - he is hiding in our newest addition to the fleet - TRUCK NUMBER THREE! 🛻

God has given us so much work we had the capacity to purchase a third truck! 😁🙏Thank you all for the support you have given us over the past few months and years and for referring us as much as you do!! We purchased this work horse in January this year and have been abundantly blessed with work to employ a full team!

However, the work is not consistent and not regular. They have work 5 days a week, sometimes 6, but it's never garenteed. Sometimes Angelo will sit and pray on a Sunday as there is only work for the guys for Monday. However, by Monday midday, their schedules for the week have been filled with clean ups and once off jobs. We would love to fill up our schedules so that we can permanently employ our third team!

Please help spread the word! 🗣📣 Let's get this third team on the road! 🥳

What's on our mind? How crazy the last 2 months have been. . . We've seen incredible highs and incredible lows in the business. What we are grateful for though, is that God remains faithful through it all.

Some areas encompass smaller areas that fall under or close to bigger areas (ie - Walmary Park falls within Sonstraal Heights) so do not fear if your neighborhood isn't there! We're most likely covering it - just enlisted it under a bigger name.

Please note: we have had requests for complexes and whole neighborhoods/streets. We are very open to accommodating for such situations and are very happy to discuss this matter further with you to explore all the options!
