Beanies4Babies is a non-profit that launched in July 2018. We currently operate in 11 different hospitals in 5 different provinces, including George Regional Hospital. We strive to provide every premature & low birth weight baby (under 2.5kg) born in the public sector with a handmade knitted / crocheted beanie & pair of booties to fight hypothermia (cold body Temperature) and thus increase their fighting chance of survival. These small babies cannot regulate their own body temperature. If you want to become part of this amazing project in any way, donating financially, donating wool or donating your precious time & skill by creating the beanies & booties, please contact Anneke.
