Don Clarke Artist
Don Clarke is a highly acclaimed artist, musician, and writer. His chosen medium is acrylic on big stretched canvasses
After more than 40 years in the music industry, Don now almost exclusively concentrates on painting magnificent abstract wildlife works.
Something a little different this time.
I decided to give this group of elephants a muted, almost ghostly, otherworldly interpretation because these enormous creatures just don't need to be painted "in your face."
"BLUE WATERS"
A moody landscape of thirsty pachyderms.
Acrylic on canvas.

A little more realistic this time he said through gritted teeth. πΆ
"The Wise One".
The African Wild Dog (also known as the African Hunting Dog or Painted Dog) is the second most endangered carnivore in Africa. They are a canid that lives throughout Africa from heavily forested areas to open plains. In South Africa, there are fewer than 650 remaining in the wild. π
WILD DUST
A wild dog, a lion, and a rhino,
Were sitting together one night.
The lion said:
"Guys, I don't need to disguise,
I can kill anything with one bite.
The rhino said: "Crap! You've already tried;
But your yellow old teeth
Couldn't get through my hide!"
"If you must!", said the dog;
"If you must."
But all that you'll bite is my dust!"
- Don Clarke
This lad's name is "H***Y TOO!" ππ€ͺπ

Home - Don Clarke Art Welcome To Don Clarke Art "Abstraction allows man to see with his mind what he cannot physically see with his eyes⦠Abstract art enables the artist to perceive beyond the tangible, to extract the infinite out of the finite. It is the emancipation of the mind. It is an explosion into unknown areas....
6 new paintings on their way to Hoedspruit, including this which I finished yesterday.
One to go, then holiday.π
I'm all painted out!π΅βπ«
Paintings piling up!
But it's going well, all things considered.
Certainly wild dogs are the most popular, so I'm embarking on a series of them.
They are very photogenic creatures, and, to coin a word, they are also entirely paintogenic!
So on we go! π
Something a bit different. A touch more graphic this time. But still same style and colours.
Just finished this commission.
Commissions are far more psychologically daunting than spec work. For many reasons.
This painting is particularly difficult to capture as a photo, so I've broken it up into its elements.
Peace & love! π
So I have added a rhino and buffalo to the existing stuff to make up the Big 5.
Meet "H***y" and "Cyril".
The dog just came along looking for company. I think I'll call him "Julius". π€ͺ
Once again, these are poor photographic reproductions of the real thing, but I like to take you on my journey into the wild! π
Please tell me if it's getting tedious! π
