Wagyu Biltong ❤️

The buttock/biltong cuts of Wagyu beef don’t always marble, but when they do - it’s quite wonderful! You can have highly marbled steak cuts and biltong cuts with little to no marbling. However the flavour will always come through distinctly…..

Interesting facts about the beef with amazing fats…..
- Wagyu beef originates from Japan, and is a mix of various Japanese cattle breeds. The finest Wagyu still originates from there.
- it is known to be superior in tenderness and flavour. Can be quite rich in flavour due to the intramuscular fat content.
- Higher levels of healthier monounsaturated fats.
- Wagyu fat has a lower melting point than traditional beef - creating the oily melt in your mouth flavour.

Being the custodians of Braeside Beef and Lamb, is a tremendous privilege for us. What was a retail butchery in the parks that started over 100 years ago - evolving to become the curators of some of the finest grass fed, grass finished meat, anti-biotic and hormone free deriving from animals that have lived happier lives in their natural environment. This is proper meat ❤️

It’s always a great time to fire it up! We feel very privileged that we can be a part of this age old tradition - our folklore! 🫶🏽🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🫶🏽

Thank you Linden Hoerskool students, staff, coaches and parents. Today’s visit from the 1st XV was extremely special. It almost seems surreal that we have been afforded such a humbling privilege to be a part of such a phenomenal school. The boys really are testament to the caliber of this proud institution, they are equipped with impeccable manners and respect not only to their elders or strangers but as well as towards their peers. The energy and “gees” they exuberate can only give one goosies!!!
Being a part of this great community is what it is all about for us, the community has supported us for generations, and afforded us great opportunities and privileges like this. The community is also what makes the 7 day week toil an absolute jol!

Well done to the 1st XV on their excellent season, and well done to their phenomenal coaching and management team. To win over 90% of your games is a tremendous feat and we have no doubt that next year will be even better!🙌🏽 Hoërskool Linden

Great meat, great starch and veggies, and lots of love and passion - are the foundation of a great meal! Dad’s are the foundation of a great home and great children! Today I give shanks to my fathers, and some short rib😉🧀. Happy Father’s Day to all the awesome dads out there, and to those who have lost their dads - our thoughts and prayers are with you today! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We challenged ourselves to take a hiatus from the most addictive things in life – we deliberated either taking a break from social media, or taking a break from talking trash and hitting the bottle!!! The latter was almost impossible so we abstained from social media! We haven’t stopped grinding, cutting and chopping away trying to keep our fridges full and our awesome customers happy - we are back and look forward to engaging online more frequently.
