The whole crypto community was hyped by the news about $BTC Dominance dumping below the 50% support. It was supposed to mean that the new massive altcoin season is coming, but in fact it didn't happen.

If we take a closer look at the different crypto assest domination charts, we would see that $BTC.D dumped from 61% to 44% (17 points of difference) in the recent 40 days, while $ETH.D pumped from 11% to 20% (8 points of difference) during the same period. So, Bitcoin gave to Ether a half of the lost dominance.

What about small-cap altcoins? During the recent 40 days their dominance grew up only from 11% to 14% (3 points of difference). For instance, during the great altcoin season Jan-Feb 2021, the small-cap alts domination pumped from 6% to 12% (6 points of difference and 100% growth).

So, this is the reason why we didn't see any altcoin season despite $BTC Dominance was dumping. In fact, the only reason why we are below 50% is Ether and some other majors like $LTC and $BNB.

ETH didn't go through 900+ days of accumulation just to settle for a 2x vs BTC.
