As we are nearing Women’s Months, it’s a bittersweet time for me. Four years ago on 3/08/2020, we lost Pearl (29), a mother of 2 and a beloved friend. Her memory lives on in our hearts and we honor her always.❣️
But we also remember all the other women whose lives have been tragically taken from us too soon. Their stories are a reminder of the work we still have to do to ensure the safety and well-being of all women.
This August, let’s celebrate all women and their incredible accomplishments. Let’s lift each other up, support each other, and continue to fight for a world where every woman can live freely and without fear.❣️

It’s coming up to four years since I last spoke to Pearl, and our fight for her justice is over. Now all we can do is focus on her children, making sure that they are loved, healthy and safe. We continue to spread awareness about GBV and continue supporting all women and children that this pandemic affects.

In South Africa, there are countless brave children who face unimaginable pressures every single day. They battle against poverty, violence, and inequality, yet their resilience shines through. These young heroes deserve our support and admiration as they navigate a challenging path towards a brighter future. Mother’s Day gifts with a purpose:
All proceeds from My Girl Pearl go towards the living expenses, clothing, food, education and the future of Pearls two children who have been left without their mom and no financial help from their father.

We have also donated to numerous feeding schemes for children, helped mothers leave abusive relationships, donated to NPO’s in need and helped other charities.

So here’s what happened in court this morning. We are all in shock. 😡
Once again so let down by our justice system, let down by women who were ment to be defending us. This is a pathetic sentence for taking the life of someone that you were ment to protect. And a real slap in the face, he then started laughing and winked at his new girlfriend that he met when he was out on bail for 3 years. Yes, new girlfriend! Who then started cheering for him!
I’m at a loss for words!!! 😢

In loving memory of my dear friend Hlengiwe Pearl Msimango, whose life was tragically cut short by the hands of her fiancé on 03/08/2020. Tomorrow, we stand together to demand justice and ensure that her voice is heard.

May a harsh sentence be handed down and may this be a lesson to ALL men out there that this is what happens if you take the life of someone that you are ment to protect! 😡

UPDATE on a few things happening from our side:
1. Pearls kids are doing great in their new classes for the year. School fees have both been paid in full and we send lunch box snacks and food for them as they need. They are healthy, happy and loved 💜
2. Last week we made a donation of R10 000 to a schools feeding scheme. 💜 Often this meal at school is the only one a child gets for the day, so this was really something we were so grateful we could help with. And of course not without your support. Thank you as always. 💜
3. This Friday (16 February) we start with pre sentencing at the Johannesburg High Court. Currently Musa, the accused has been found guilty of murder and is behind bars.
