GIRLS CAN
Egoli Youth Empowerment’s vision is to ensure every young girl across South Africa can access and enjoy playing the sport of squash.
This past weekend we facilitated our Ekasi POP UP & Play clinic for 35 young girls from the Soweto Township. Through fun games and drills; the girls had an opportunity to learn the basics of squash.
Our thanks go to the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and Squash South Africa for making this possible.

As chess grows to the nation 😊
Strategic Minds at Work!
The rainy weather this past weekend could not deter 60 eager and excited learners from participating in the Egoli Youth Empowerment Chess BRONZE Tournament held at Phoenix College.
The learners were from different schools and academies such as:
Phoenix College
Newmodel Private College
Safe Study
EYE
The Chess Tournament set up a foundation for Inner-city players to have fun, gain confidence and play in low-pressure environment with other schools. The learners were able to compete with players of similar age and skill level from different schools.
Chess is one of EYE’s programmes and helps improve players’ cognitive skills like memory, planning, and problem-solving.
