Please be notified that there are people going around Matlosana Municipality claiming that they are from GLENCO and they are now responsible for the operations of the organization as Directors of GLENCO went to study overseas.
We pride ourselves by being honest and open to our clients, we take Identity theft as serious criminal act.
We have put proper systems to protect the organization from such unacceptable foreign influence and we are going to involve the South African Police Services to help us resolve this issue.

Water Facts of Life
Ride the Water Cycle With These
Fun Facts
There is the same amount of water
on Earth as there was when the
Earth was formed. The water from
your faucet could contain
molecules that dinosaurs drank.
Water is composed of two
elements, Hydrogen and Oxygen. 2
Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen = H2O.
Nearly 97% of the world’s water is
salty or otherwise undrinkable.
Another 2% is locked in ice caps
and glaciers. That leaves just 1%
for all of humanity’s needs — all its
agricultural, residential,
manufacturing, community, and
personal needs.
Water regulates the Earth’s
temperature. It also regulates the
temperature of the human body,
carries nutrients and oxygen to
cells, cushions joints, protects
organs and tissues, and removes
wastes.
75% of the human brain is water
and 75% of a living tree is water.
A person can live about a month
without food, but only about a
week without water.
Water is part of a deeply
interconnected system. What we
pour on the ground ends up in our
water, and what we spew into the
sky ends up in our water.
The average total home water use
for each person in the U.S. is about
50 gallons a day.
The average cost for water supplied
to a home in the U.S. is about $
2.00 for 1,000 gallons, which
equals about 5 gallons for a penny.
Water expands by 9% when it
freezes. Frozen water (ice) is lighter
than water, which is why ice floats
in water.

Planet does not need saving - Greenpeace director
By: Thulani Gqirana, News 24
Cape Town – Climate change is not about the struggle to save the planet, it's about saving the human race.
This is according to Greenpeace International's executive director Kumi Naidoo, who on Thursday painted a bleak picture of a world that was not doing enough to implement the changes needed to keep the planet 'healthy'.
The South African activist, who returns to the country at the end of the year when he steps down from his post at Greenpeace, said the climate change struggle was a simple one.
"It's a struggle of securing our children's and their children's future. The thing about climate is not the struggle to save the planet... the planet does not need saving. Because if we continue as we are now, we as a species will be gone and the planet will still be here."
Speaking in Cape Town on Thursday, he said it was a mistake to think about climate change as if it was something that was in the future.
"Lives are being lost now at a significant scale. Infrastructure is being destroyed now, and livelihoods are being disrupted now."
He cited the unrest in Darfur as an example of how water and food scarcity could lead to wars.
"We still have a window of opportunity [on climate change] but it's going to take significantly more participation and activism if we are to get in line with what the sciences are asking us to do."
It is not all doom and gloom, however. Naidoo said there were reasons to be optimistic about the fight against climate change, including the fact that there was still a chance to change political will.

The availability and lack of solar energy in Africa
September 15, 2015

The light and heat received from the sun is known as the solar energy, this heat or light can be collected and utilized to produce thermal energy or electricity. We will focus on solar energy being converted into electricity.
After this sunlight or warmth is absorbed, it is then changed into another structure known as solar power energy i.e. sun based power vitality, which is later supplied to residential homes, manufacturing plants, organizations and other clients through joined systems known as electricity grids. These grids comprise of power stations, transmission lines and other infrastructure that are utilized to disseminate the power to where it’s required.
Since solar energy is from a natural resources, it’s easily accessed, thus making it possible for countries that experience good annual sunlight to be able to produce solar power. This happens to be one of the advantages of solar power i.e. it’s renewable. It also has its disadvantages, it’s expensive to change it to a use-able form. Various factors can also affect the amount of solar energy received in a location e.g. amount of direct solar radiation, quality of the equipment’s used to collect the solar energy, strength of the solar energy depending on the days etc.
Africa happens to be one of the continents that experience a lot of sunshine, and most regions in Africa are considered have some of the best solar radiation on the planet. This should ensure that all regions in Africa are able to access solar power because it’s a natural resource and it’s abundantly available. This is not the case yet, but will change soon as solar energy technology improves and reduces in cost.
Some locations in Africa are very remote that even though there is the availability of solar power, they don’t have a electricity. This is due to various reasons such as poor grid infrastructure. The remoteness of some of these locations makes them inaccessible, therefore making it hard for any company that wants to supply power over long distances.
Some power companies have accessed some of these locations, however, they’ve not laid any cables or grids to supply the solar power. Some power corporations also don’t have enough power to provide electricity to these all required areas. This generally due to the residents of these remote locations being unable to meet the cost of the electricity that will be provided.
Inability to distribute electricity to many consumers or locations that are far from where the electricity grids are located, is another reason why some of the locations don’t have electricity. Availability of solar power in Africa can solve the lack of electricity in remote areas, if only these power corporations can be well funded, to enable them to build electricity grids that can distribute electricity to all locations.
Occupants in remote areas should can take the power of the sun into their own hands and install solar panels to supply their specific needs. This will ensure they have energy immediately and not be forced to wait for their local power company to implement infrastructure, which could take a very long time.
September is Clean-up South Africa Month and what better time to celebrate the beauty of spring than to pay homage to our magnificent environment? The Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) wants to promote a clean and healthy environment and encouraging all South Africans to do their part in preserving our natural splendour.
Professor Suzan Oelofse, president of IWMSA, says, “During Clean-up SA Month, we would like to make citizens aware of daily actions that will make a change in the long run. Why not reduce your environmental footprint by thinking of the ‘Six Rs of Sustainability’ when using or purchasing items? They are: Reduce; Rethink; Refuse; Recycle; Reuse; Replace.”
Remembering the six Rs
Here are the 6 Rs outlined, with helpful explanations provided by Oelofse:
Reduce – Make a conscious decision to use and consume less. “Buy only what you need and be mindful of unnecessary wastage – rather buy reusable items and reconsider over packaging.”
Rethink – Be aware of your consumption habits. “Rethink and question everything you buy and consume. By making this a daily routine, you will soon become aware of products that are recyclable or made from recyclable materials.”
Refuse – “Another way to be more sustainable is to refuse buying or consuming certain items to ultimately not generate waste. This is not always easy and does not mean that you should not consume – it is rather to consume with care and thought.”
Recycle – This is one of the most popular R’s, where raw materials are reclaimed. By separating recyclable materials at source, waste is diverted from landfill sites and clean recyclables becomes available as secondary resources.
Reuse – This is where creativity comes in – there are a lot of items that can be used for something else or by someone else, extending its product life. “Before you throw items away, first think of whether it can be used for something else. Also think about donating items to people or organisations that can make use of it.”
Replace – Again, be conscious consumers by looking at the products and items you buy. “There are a lot of fantastic products on the market that are environmentally friendly and recyclable, which you could consider when replacing consumer goods.”
“It all comes down to conscious consumerism – by being informed and willing to make a change, citizens can help alleviate waste to landfill,” concludes Oelofse.
proper waste channel...is a proper waste management

From Intelligent Life: The decline of the yellow-breasted bunting is shocking. Since 1980 the population has fallen by 90% and its range has retracted by 5,000km. Once spread out over vast areas of Europe and Asia, the bunting is no longer present in eastern Europe, European Russia, large parts of western and central Siberia or Japan. It has gone, in the space of a human generation, from ubiquity to scarcity http://econ.st/1ULipgl
